There is something wrong in the head-to-head section of this matchup, if any dev wants to check it out
How is twisten overrated?
India getting more competitive
I like it
What question am I answering?
Europe doesn't have teams as a whole because we are sharing spots with Turkey, CIS, North Africa and Middle East! That's precisely what I'm saying!
Why 4 for BR+LATAM but not 2 for Europe, 2 for CIS, 2 for TR, 2 for North Africa or 2 for Middle East?!
You are defending YOUR spots but not the ones for other regions. All you said to me was something like: in Brazil we have worse infrastructure so we deserve every single one of the spots. Hmmkay man
The 8 winners of the 8 different VRLs get to the promotion tournament
Promotion tournament:
10 teams in total, only 2 advance to next VCT EMEA
fair enough
Great idea from youngster GOAT Leo
But I doubt Riot would want to invest in that right now
oooh thats good to know and explains a lot of things, thank you
but still, they would be able to compete for VLR Turkey, correct? even with worse ping
no, he is talking about Champions slots here
I'm not saying anything against Brazil as a region
All I'm saying is that 2 spots is more than enough to be well represented. I mean, look at it this way: you are getting roughly the same spots (3) as Europe+CIS+TR+Africa+Middle East man
What about North Africa and Middle East "rights" to be represented? What about turkey? What about CIS? What about europe as an independent region?
what?
That's a "valid" (but still debatable, though) argument I guess
But their definition of a region and how they determine what a region is, is shit, to be quite honest
What I'm trying to say is: why is BR a region, why LATAM, why JP, why KR for example, but why isn't CIS a region, or TR a region, or MENA a region. You get me?
I think this post explain very well the thing that I'm trying to say:
https://www.vlr.gg/67254/server-population-compared-to-slots
Every map you showed here is a rough aproximation, it still isn't an exact map, because, again, by a mathematical statement, "perfect" maps for a 2D surface of a sphere don't exist.
And yes, Brazil is very big, but I don't understand what are you trying to say with that.
I agree that "EMEA is half of the words" is a debatable statement, but it is still massive enough in playerbase to be given only 3 spots
nor really "just" EU+CIS+TR (as if it wasn't enough already), MENA exists as well mate
yeah, but what I'm trying to say is that every map is inaccurate in this case
not really reducing it, if you think about it
exactly the same spots were given to EMEA last season
so do you really think they are giving up on EMEA already? I don't think so
If they lose EMEA viewership, they are more than fucked
I feel like they think they have EMEA viewership well established already, so they are not giving EMEA any extra spot lol
Which is... stupidly unfair
no 2D map could trully show the world's real proportions and dimensions, it is actually a mathematical statement
so there is no such thing as an "accurate" map in this meaning of the word
yeah, pissed but not totally surprised honestly
we are not confused lol
everyone knows this is about viewership
we just think it is not fair to weight the spots ONLY by viewership
and we are making sure this message gets to RIOT, because people rightfuly think it is unfair, and if they don't do anything to help the situation, they'll have to endure the possible consequences this decision might bring to the table for them
Agree lol
EMEA groups and playoffs will be insane and ultra competed
I've already answered you before about this:
yeah the more the better but I still fail to understand why are they giving EMEA fewer spots, to be honest
No hate towards brazil/latam
but why tho :(
No hate towards any region, really
I get why RIOT is trying to group the most viewers as possible
But 3 spots for EMEA... is going to kill the scene real quick.
It feels like you are fighting for nothing, to be honest
I think they are scared of covid, too much shit to sort to be honest
Could anybody calmly explain this to me?
Is it because they want more viewers from that specific region? Is it because they think EMEA scene is shit compared to BR/LATAM?
At Champions:
What the hell is this joke?
I get it, Asia is big as fuck, but 6 spots fot them and only 3 spots for a competitive scene like EMEA? Really? Also, Brazil/LATAM has 1 spot more and NA the same spots
This is... disappointing
Absolute W
Anything equal or above my rank is good
Anything below my rank is trash, very bad
lol
Hahaha I just searched youngprodigy on vlr and he showed the first lol
I'm obsessed with Gazpacho. S+ Tier especially in summer
There are a bunch of argentinian empanadas businesses here in Madrid and I have been visiting them pretty often lately. I fucking love them bro hahaha
Valorant is still in its early stages, compared to CSGO.
Yeah that's what I'm saying
Ppl accusing him with 0 evidence, just a bit sad honestly
Guilty until proven innocent from now on I guess lol
Oh that explains it a bit more
That's fine as an argument, I guess. But there were big enough Italian/Portuguese orgs out there waiting to be invited in a league where 9/10 spots were reserved to invitations. Wouldn't it be nice if LVP reserved ONE or TWO spots for them?
Mate, they invited NINE out of TEN teams, and every single one of them was a spanish org. Some of them didn't even had a team participating in VCT... Do you think this is remotely fair?
They should be looking for Turkey if they want fanbase, we both agree. But what makes you think that is what they want? I think it's pretty clear that it isn't their main priority
Being in the French VRL isn't probably much better than Turkish VRL (that's still debatable) but Turkish scene is way more closed to EU "niche" than French one is. French and Benelux teams are way more integrated within EU meta for obvious reasons than Turkish teams are. And if you want to become one of the best teams, EU scene is overall better than just TR scene just solely by the fact it is much much wider
They probably won't qualify, but again, I think they will be ok with that, they want to grind the scene. Like they did in VCT qualis
btw, I think it's really hard for vlt.gg devs to have every single onr of the VLR qualis 24/7 updated. There is a lot of info to manage and it's not really worthy enough.
If you want precised info I recommend you to check valorant Liquipedia, they usually have everything well sorted
Edit: misread
Many of them are invited into the CLOSED qualifiers. A stage above open qualifiers. Even some of them are directly invited to the VLRs main stage, no qualification needed.
For example:
yeah this guy had only 5 matches registered on vlr.gg before, he's quite an insane unknown player, he didn't even needed an insanely amount of FK to perform massively, he just wiped the floor with their bodies lol
I don't think it's dumb, but it's a risky one for sure. These guys are thinking really big. I'm rooting for them.
They could chose and try for Turkey whit 8 spots to qualify, surely an easier way to win some reputation in the scene. They instead chose a region where only 2 open spots are on the table.
I personally think this shows how determined and patient these guys are. They want to grow and learn as a team and they chose a harder scene to grind the game. I think this is better for the long term.
