i have played a lot of multiplayer games, i would say 1 in about 30+ matches would i face a teammate that is racist, sexist, or mean. It might be a differnce of region and play time but i unironically meet nice people who actually enjoy the game.

Obv you are going to hear more about people banned for hacking than insulting women, people who hack are usually higher elo and get called out by streamers and people with a large following so when banned you will hear about it. In my own personal experience, most misogyny and sexism comes from lower elo players who come from games that are male dominated (cs cod ect) rather than the fucking ascendant player who spends all his time playing swiftplay

Most gambling sponsors only give the big bucks to big orgs and famous teams (popular streamer teams, teams that have had a long time in the community, teams that are winning lot etc.) And smaller teams like a top 50 team that isn't popular and isn't winning would not receive the big bucks from draft kings or whatever. Realistically all orgs run off of sponsor money through streamers and name and sponsors have started to pull out of esports as they realize most fans are not going to be buying their product. We are heading towards a franchise and sports betting heavy esports scene as that is the most sensible way to keep the scene afloat.
