Did Valorant made you more or less interested in CS:GO? I mean, i would guess that quiet a few people that never played cs:go went like: ,,Oh there is an even more hard core version of this game? With a more established scene and decades of history? I might check this one out!" I mean CS:GO´s numbers have been on the rise ever since Valorant came out.

Everything in the rulebook is fair game, the people that complain are just mad that their favorite team got antistrated. A team like Astralis got antistrated by the entire scene for the entirety of their era in CS:GO, they still won since they were just the best, that was amazing to see and i hope that one day there will be a Val team close to that.

posted about 2 years ago

That will also continue for 1-2 years since the scene still is very new.

posted about 2 years ago

That team would be insane, if we talk about cs go tho. Kscerato is a top 10 CS player in his prime, and yuurih is his counterpart similar to f0rsaken and Jingg. Dumau is the new sniper talent in Brazil in CS. TACO is 2 times major champion and considered to be a legend. He has become an IGL the last few years. And that Biguzera is pretty good.

That actually sounds like a perfect fit on all levels. Fnatic already has what it takes to be the best, but imagine having that kind of skill with little role overlap in a team.

You aint toxic anymore? Ofc not anybody, but people like leaf will never be able to go to brazil since he has beaten the ass of some washed brazilian cunts who were a good team 4 years ago. Look at what happened with zombs. Players literally told others that they would kill them...

C9, PRX and G2

Well, now we know that FPX probably would have won if they attended.

To be expected tho. IDK who came up with the idea to host masters in the country of counterstrike. The place where literally nobody gives a shit unless there is a dane playing, but spoiler: Every dane is playing cs.

DRX are never going to win an international event

posted about 2 years ago

Kinda unfair the comparison still. ESL Events are not promoted by Valve, nor do they have the prestige a major has. IEM cologne broke the record for non major events wirh 1.25 million viewers. The last 2 majors on the other hand had both over 2 million views. Even then, remember that CS has far more events, which means a single event has less value then an international event in Val. Also Val just has a publisher that uses the esports aspect as their main marketing factor while CS isnt marketed at all.

Cs is from the community for the community, that is what makes it special

Just take this ratio and leave

posted about 2 years ago

Well the danish crowd is generally speaking questionable. They are quiet as fuck in cs when no danish team is playing, but literally cheat when Astralis plays.

posted about 2 years ago

What an amazing final, this is the very peak of esports. Expect the crowd in Copenhagen to suck since nobody gives a shit about cs there since it is literally the country of counter strike.
Istanbul will be an absolute banger tho.

Have you seen the last major?

What should i watch? Both games are insane

I habe to say DRX and PRX deliver some satisfying Valorant even though they kinda have the same flaw. It just looks really good when they are on point. I just feel like if you could improve their mid and late rounds somehow you would literally have astralis of Valorant right here. The similarities are so prevalent already, quiet an even skill distrubtion with amazing strats and innovative ideas. I would love to have an Astralis of Valorant.

Just watch this right here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IFMhhtff-k

Who is more trustable on esports topics then esports himself?

posted about 2 years ago

Might be, but i feel like they are still way to reliant on protocols. The same goes for asia in general. Maybe it would be a great thing if they spend the off season in NA or EU to better their mid and late round teamplay.

Astralis, the greatest team of all time in CS GO, always had really good strats, but what was even better was their mid and late round. These mfers never lost the 3v3 in their prime.

posted about 2 years ago

Still there are not that many good asian teams tho. PRX kinda has the same u´issue, just not as prevalent. They are also at their best in early round scenarios or when they rely on a set play, thats why they play so fast btw, cuz they need to essentially win the round within the first 30 seconds. When they were not able to get that advantage at the beginning, Guild often won the rounds. That is how you counter PRX and DRX, you wait and interrupt their early round and then play out the late round. You usually have to play quiet a cheesy style at first.

Holy shit, thats actually horrible

A few weeks ago i saw an episode of Thorins Valorant talkshow and there they had a guest who is apperently very involved in the korean scene. They have talked about DRX´s chances to win an event, where thorin made a great point imo. (Thorin has been involved in the CS 1.6 scene and also lived in Korea for a while so i kinda trust him if it comes to these topics.)

Unless a game becomes a cultural phenomenon in Korea there will never be a scene developed enough to become dominant like in other games, since things either are very very niche in korea or cutural phenoms. Valorant hasn´t managed to become a cuturally accepted game, which is why he doubts that this will ever happen. Still, in these niche games you usually get a hand full of Koreans who become really dedicated in their craft, which are theoretically speaking on a world class level. Sadly for them, the practice they get in their region aint good enough to keep up with the other regions. What they do then is focussing on perfecting the early round game, which is obviously the most structured part of the round. The longer the round goes on tho, the less you can relly on protocols, which is usually the time where these teams fail. According to Thorin this has been a thing that already happened in CS 1.6, where the korean scene was not that big but you still had always a Korean team which was like in the top 8-12 range.

I strongly believe that this is what happens to DRX right now, and unless the Korean scene develops there is no way that they are going to win an event, since they will never be able to develop god tier late rounds if their region is so shiet.

Many of them will lose their job probably. I think quiet a few will switch back to CS out of desperation.

They have as much of a vision as Astralis had with their 10 men roster or Lenaa as the TSM CEO

I talk about the people that commented into this thread.

With the players listed u jzst realised how bad val players look compared to CS players lol.
In CS the names would be: BlameF, k0nfig, Dev1ce, Twistzz, Jackzz, NiKo, fnx, REZ etc.

Which duo is stronger?

FNATIC probably, the duo of Alfajer in Derke is the strongest duo of all time, no doubt.

Context for the non CS people:

The IGL of NaVi, the team who has been dominant in 2021, has been kicked from the organisation after they lost in the final of the last major. The reson was that his wife expressed support of putin which navi, an org from ukraine, obviously doesn´t like. In their statement Navi said that boombl4 was a "High reputational risk".

Today his now ex wife posted various videos of boombl4 which included her sitting on his face and him snorting coke, nothing has been confirmed tho.

FNATIC and FPX are crushing it in europe rn. NA on the other hand seems so random. I think that FNATIC is going to win Copenhagen easily if they continue to play like that, they honestly look like the best team of all time.

At least now Astralis cant cheat lmao

Above twistzz? Nah

No but Twistzz, K0nfig, Device, ChadF, FNX, Saffee,Shox, the entire G2 team and Valde def do.

posted about 2 years ago

Thats the asian type that obviously isn´t as prevelent in CS. Some people are into that. I think it also has something to do if you prefer more feminine or masculine features. If you like masculine dudes CS is obviously better, but if you prefer that K-Pop eboy style Val is probably better.

posted about 2 years ago

NA has Twistzz, that already is miles above anything NA has to offer in Val.

posted about 2 years ago

Yeah sure, there are outliers, but generally speaking you can def see a tendency.

The chants, the energy etc. everything is so fucking boring in the US.

Yesterday i was at my friends place and we watched Football match between Schalke and Pauli. The fans had way more energy and some of them launched fireworks in the arena. After Schalke won half the stadium literally stormed the field. Why is America so boring compared to that?

posted about 2 years ago

The way NA handle coaching in pretty much every esport i follow is one of the main reasons why NA keeps being behind EU, KR etc.

While the coach in the best EU teams also tends to be the actual leader of the team, with authority and power, the coaches in NA usually get used like a analyst+. The Coach, in the mind of NA pros, should only talk when asked and give important information about their enemys like a robot. The thing is, especially SEN needs somebody who takes over the sterring wheel, and is willing to cut people who do not want to win over anything else.

The same thing always happened in CS for example. The Coaches that were thrown around in the NA scene were always these quiet analyst type guys (AdreN, Imapet etc...) Meanwhile the best teams always gave the authority to the Coach, like Astralis Zonic, Gambit with Groove, NaVi with Bl4d3 or Vitality with XQTZZ. This way of running a team is proven to be much better and we already saw that with the Guard who adopted that european coaching style.
