I think valorant audience comes more from LoL and other games than from Cs

Literally impossible as XLG starts in the top 8 already

This makes no sense for me because its basically saying that all EWC needs is to go through a shell company

It can seem a little messy yeah, but I dont think its last minute communications, it is pretty usual for tournaments to be like this if you are used to Cs and lower tier events enviroment, its just that Riot/Valorant events usually come with a lot more info for regular ppl.

The lack of advertising of the rules etc is prob due to the fact they are organizing 30+ tournaments, not just Valorant.

Bad format is subjective, I really like it and think it should be the norm (except for playing more than once in the same day).

If they aren't broadcasted indeed its a pity.

As for the Schedule, it may feel congested for viewers, and maybe EMEA teams, but I think its fine for americas, most teams got 2-3 week breaks before it, and if it wasn't for EWC they would go 2 months+ without playing?

posted 7 months ago

First matches for Americas are:

100T x Furia
Lev x NRG
2G x Cloud9
Kru x Loud

Teams can still sign up so we cant 100% confirm who is playing (Furia, NRG and Cloud9 have signed up).

For the first phase, I think ppl have to ask for broadcast rights, and if given, they would have to observe the game themselves, as there are no dedicated observers for that phase of the tournament. Teams can share their POV if they want, but I dont think they will do that.

There is a format, and there is also a loser bracket for the qualify. Try not to spread misinfornation please, lets make VLR a good space for everyone

I think most ppl don't care about the whole event. I think it will be a good Valorant Event (and we get too few of those), and whoever wins tekken doesn't influence the valorant matches at all. As for the format, I really like it, its the same as 2021 Champions or old Cs Majors (before swiss). I get why some ppl want double elim bracket for playoffs but I really appreciate the single elim because it makes games highstakes

From their rule book:

Match broadcasting

Rights
All broadcasting rights of EWC are owned by the Esports World Cup Foundation. This
includes, but is not limited to: IRC bots, shoutcast streams, video streams (e.g.
POV-streams), GOTV, replays, demos or TV broadcasts.

Waiving these rights
The Esports World Cup Foundation has the right to award broadcasting rights for one or
multiple matches to a third party or the participants themselves. In such cases the
broadcasts must have been arranged with the EWC Broadcast Distribution team before the
start of the match.

Participant responsibility
Participants cannot refuse to have their matches broadcast by EWC-authorised broadcasts,
nor can they choose in what manner the match will be broadcast. The broadcast can only be
rejected by the tournament administration. The participant agrees to make sufficient
accommodations so that the broadcasting of matches can take place.

Teams can stream/allow ppl to stream, so we might get streams from content creators of the orgs? I dont know if Val has an auto observer, or if teams are willing to do that (share their povs), but it is possible

8 teams play for 2 spots in stage 2, then those 2 teams join MIBR and EG to play for 2 spots for EWC.

It means that EG/MIBR wont have to play the first 3 games.

Teams listed above have to win 5 matches to qualify, MIBR and EG only gotta win 2
