I'm not completely certain about India and others but I'm pretty sure just like Pakistan, esports isn't a big thing. The current generations parents(incl. mine) see gaming as nothing but an entertainment and a time waste. Also, especially PC gaming isn't a big thing. Mobile games, for sure but not PC.
Recently it has seen growth but we still have a long way to go before playing video games professionally is seen as an actual career option.
We are pretty far behind in this stuff. But in the near future it's definitely gonna be a thing. So, we will see a rise to immense talent considering the Population in this region is pretty huge. I got high hopes personally.

I'm not biased at all so yea I agree that they are behind for now. Idk how SA will improve or the better question when will it improve. It's been slowly improving but so are the other teams and regions but at a much faster pace.
