he doesn't, you need an igl so probably redgar since he's 10000% in russian

honestly s0m oxy xeppaa neT flyuh? not sure who else you would put on the team besides s0m oxy and xeppaa, not a lot of options for c9, maybe if they could get FNS

SEN NRG 100T

KC NAVI FUT

GENG RRQ T1

lowkey ardiis has been losing mad weight, proud of him for that one

never done that and wasn't planning on it; I only named 4 teams per region lmao

Just wanted to make a fun thread, not that big of a deal

posted 8 months ago

because they have probably the most accomplished NA players in one team and everyone was shooting besides Ethan. I think I misworded it originally, I think their structure was solid but it was malleable and it definitely wasn't adaptable against higher level teams, I think that had they played LOUD on sunset or any of the other higher level teams, they would have also lost that map.

sacy is already the goat imo along with chronicle and saadhak but thats just me

posted 8 months ago

I pulled up 2021-2022 cuz that was what the guy said and you said it was a rare occurrence, my b fam. I think two players dropping 30 is more a testament to how poor NRG's structure was during that game though. You don't see players dropping double 30's anymore because teams have a strong structure around their players, NRG just didn't have that yet while TenZ and Zekken were opportunistic enough to fish for kills

posted 8 months ago

not using my brain when on vlr mr psion, 1.5 rounds to 2 anyways (you're right though, 1.5kpr is still phenomenal)

posted 8 months ago

That's what im saying, he needs to place well in shanghai and look good in seoul for him to make top 10 of anything for me tbh

posted 8 months ago

I disagree, while a lot of those games WERE T2, you have to keep in mind they were against T2 players and he was 24/4 while the score was usually around 13-3. That's around like 2 kills per round pretty much every time he played. I don't think the game against NRG was a life game, I honestly think it was a bad game from sacy and zellsis. I think had NRG let any maps through other than Sunset and Split they had a very big chance of winning the series, but they just looked so uncoordinated on sunset.

posted 8 months ago

well yeah duh, can't really frag out internationally if you haven't been to an international and the last one you were in, your team bombed out. TenZ needs to make Shanghai imo to keep up his appearance as a top 10 player (Ive seen many people put him as a top 10 player but imo this is the only time he has been consistent on and with a team since berlin)

posted 8 months ago

nah asuna_yuuki is a chill guy, I just think it's dumb to say that it was "rare" for TenZ to completely outfrag an entire server

posted 8 months ago

I will reiterate this again, almost none of these games went to OT and for most of them hes like 24/9 , if it went to OT (which it didn't because he was killing everyone in the server), then he most definitely would've been far past 30 kills

posted 8 months ago

yeah because he didn't go into like quadruple OT in every game, these are just outstanding performances (most of the ones that aren't 30 bombs are him being like +14 or him 13-1ing a team and being quadruple positive)

posted 8 months ago

saying TenZ fragging well being a rare occurrence, especially within the 2021-2022 period of games he played is something that I will easily defend

they're looking good imo, if they keep the improvement up I'd say they look close to EG

posted 8 months ago

tbh the harbor gekko deadlock iso clove releases have been pretty peak, I think it's just that most of them are dogshit and recency that makes you think that.

posted 8 months ago

I agree, I just think they have good upset potential, to be honest though I would watch out with EG, they have some shooters and Potter has cooked with weaker individuals before too

posted 8 months ago

Polvi is fine, I just think someone more explosive and someone that makes more plays would fit the roster better.
The only Indian talent that I could see filling that niche would be DEATHMAKER from True Rippers, but if they have a need to go international (which really I think GE should get a group of rookies and 2 veterans along with a veteran coach like how KC has structured their team in order to enhance the Indian VAL scene), a player like Vera from the MYSG scene, a thai player like GarnetS or Kadoom, or even like Gin who has been consistently good for Fancy United would be better in my opinion. Just not really a fan of how they structured the roster, especially with the potential of the last roster they had.

LF is fine, and I am not too knowledgeable on Indian smokes players but I am sure there are better options tbh.

posted 8 months ago

I agree, not sure about the flashback comment, as Karon is looking to be the best controller in the world (he probably is right now), but I could definitely see them placing deep in each split and even in internationals. It really is up to Termi to lead them to those victories, though.

posted 8 months ago

I think GE could have been good, had they kept 1 of the two incredible duelist players they had on their team and honestly I think there is better duelist talent in pacific and hell, even in India that are better than polvi as of now. I think GE are going to be relying on the good performances from Blazek1ng and Benkai whereas the rest of the team doesn’t exactly have the firepower or individual skill to really compete with the rest of pacific. Lightningfast also needs to show better individual play for split 1, as he did not have the most impressive showing during kickoff.

posted 8 months ago

I think they’re the most likely to have weird comps and more interesting game plans, which is saying something esp when they’re playing in pacific, a region known for weird shit. I could definitely see TS and RRQ just wreaking havoc though, and honestly RRQ has a really good shot of making shanghai imo.

posted 8 months ago

Boostio, Cryo, and Eeiu looked super solid, and bang wasn’t far behind. I agree though that Asuna is most likely their win condition (if he fails to meet expectations it will be more clearly on him than the rest of the team)

posted 8 months ago

I mean yeah, I named 4 teams I thought would do good. Teams like 100T and GiantX went winless within their groups but I have trust in them to do well, I don’t necessarily disagree that they will all be mid-level teams but I think these are the teams most likely to upset the top level teams.

People are most definitely sleeping on DRX, especially if you’re ranking them 3/4 in a group with PRX TALON DFM RRQ and ZETA. Honestly I could see them fighting with PRX for number 1 if their rookies are as good as their players say they are (Mako had a whole thing with flashback saying that he was more mechanically skilled than his entire team which is interesting, especially since he’s basically one of the only dedicated sentinel players in pacific)

posted 8 months ago

T1 is easily a top 3 team in pacific imo so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they performed well

posted 8 months ago

You’re right, honestly I completely forgot about them lol, probably because they’re always expected to do good.

posted 8 months ago

If fnatic sees little to no results this year, I would love to see them pick up a T2 rookie

posted 8 months ago

EMEA:
Vitality is definitely going to make playoffs, especially now that they have Trexx, their talent pool and ability to brawl especially in a meta which has leaned towards larger, messier team fights. I would be surprised if they looked bad.

KOI made a pretty good run for a team that was newly formed before the league started, I wouldn't be surprised if they make a deep run during split 1, the only issue is whether or not Starxo's IGLing can hold up.

FUT are currently being slept on right now because they got grouped in kickoff, but keep in mind they lost to a red-hot Team Heretics and a developed Karmine Corp, I would not be surprised if they make Shanghai over the likes of FNATIC and NAVI.

GiantX looked super solid during kickoff, they just happened to have the most stacked group of the tournament; redgar has always been a solid IGL, definitely less so since he has been comming in English, however I think that GiantX's established core can definitely do some damage during the season.

Americas:
100T are probably one of the bigger heavy hitters that people know, I just think they're going to make a deep run and to be honest, depending on how well NRG, LEV, and LOUD play, they may upset and make Shanghai

KRU have always been a good team and honestly I do not think that will change, Keznit is insane as always and the rest of the core is capable of keeping up, I doubt they will be winless throughout the year.

MIBr has been slept on a lot in kickoff, but they're clearly much better than Cloud9 and FURIA, which places them cleanly within the middle of the region. Beating G2, I think, separates them from the rest. Will they be able to play against the larger names like LEV, NRG, SEN, and LOUD? Probably not, but I think that fr0d will provide a strong coaching figure within this team and place them in the upper half of teams.

EG has shown very good antistratting and innovation within their map pool, I just would not be surprised if Potter is capable of creating her next championship level team.

Pacific:

Talon had a very strong showing at the beginning of kickoff, but dwindled towards the end, losing to a Team Secret that they had brutalized beforehand. With the extra time they have had during Madrid, I think they're capable of doing serious damage, as they were able to play well enough against DRX.

ZETA's managing has created something good with the team they currently have, I think that with the talent development of Carlao and the leadership of Laz, they will be able to make a deep run this split. If their rookies can keep up, I think they could even place above teams like T1 and DRX.

DRX is a name that a lot of people wouldn't think of for a surprise team, but the showing that they had in kickoff wasn't exactly the most prolific. A lot of people are sleeping on them as a roster, but taking in 2 rookies doesn't change that they have Stax, Buzz, and Mako; players that have proven themselves as the echelon of Korean VALORANT. Their rookies will allow them to play in a scrappier way than previously; the only issue now is whether or not Termi can coach within the best interest of the team, or regress the talent they have to being too structured for their own good.

RRQ have jemkin and estrella.

I wanted to make a funner thread just because I think it's interesting how good a lot of the teams now that aren't attending internationals are. I really only named 4 teams per region, but with how the talent development of each region is going, and how well everyone is playing, I would not be surprised if a lot of new faces start dominating the scene; something that can only help it.

Could see Brawk joining if Sacy leaves SEN (not sure why he would but going off that)

posted 8 months ago

That's fair, I agree that NRG at their peak are most likely going to be better than SEN (assuming that SEN don't all start individually improving rapidly). I do think that as of kickoff and madrid though, SEN have much more chemistry and teamplay.

NRG is a very good group of people, I would be rooting for them (marved) if I hadn't been on the SEN train since I joined VLR

closest I could find within 30 seconds, the game against NRG went to like 4 OT's or something, can't really find another game at that length

Zekken is 3 kills off of getting the kill record for an international tournament series (demon1 had 101 kills against LOUD)

posted 8 months ago

Literally never said that, you asked if he was better than f0rsaken and zekken back then and he probably was.

That's what im saying about N4RRATE, at least with Karon and JohnQT, they're kind of guaranteed to show up the next few events with how their whole team is performing and if either of them wins the tournament then they're pretty much guaranteed champs. If N4RRATE doesn't show up to Shanghai because FNATIC or NAVI or both play to their top performance then he can't ever be the "rookie of the year" compared to JohnQT and Karon. I think it's too soon to determine for N4RRATE but I do think he is capable of doing it. This is the reason players like Alfajer in 2022 or Jawgemo in 2022 couldn't be considered rookies of their year; neither fully reached their potential until 2023 while other players did in 2022, that's fine, they're still incredible players that always perform for their teams but it's not deserving of that title IMO.

posted 8 months ago

I think N4RRATE has the skill to be the best player in the world, really though in this tournament, Karon and JohnQT outshine him imo. I definitely think N4RRATE will be at least above JohnQT by the end of the year, if not Karon as well (although if GEN.G win the event, I find it hard to believe that Karon will stagnate)

posted 8 months ago

In 2021, yeah I would. That's like saying Cloud is better than Leo just because he can perform on his team; Leo has shown better placements and has performed on his team several times.

Karon and JohnQT are in the grand finals, at least until shanghai we should consider them > N4RRATE

I think its crazy that you're not willing to admit that a lot of the criticism that hate received was not conducive to his gameplay nor was it similar to other players.

Skrossi was objectively playing bad on a roster with 2 other more capable duelists; Ange1 has pretty much only received criticism for his gameplay; asuna I can agree with, he does receive a lot of hate; cryo and yay have underperformed massively, however everytime 100T play people are or were blaming asuna and bang over him so I don't exactly see your point there.

I never said it wasn't his fault, I said that he was receiving unwarranted hate over unfortunate shit that was happening in his life. It's different to receive hate over gameplay (which he was objectively playing poorly and that old SEN roster was underperforming massively) than it is to receive hate for things outside of that. You didn't even name a single player that received hate for something outside of their gameplay on a largescale besides ardiis, who I already agreed with you that he received a lot of unwarranted hate. You don't need to cocksuck FNS and Ange1 because tarik said Ange1 made a bad play or FNS was being "held down" or some bullshit lmao.

At the end of the day this is a game, you got so heated over this and for what? Because I said TenZ received unwarranted comments over things out of his control? Please look at yourself and realize that yelling on VLR about how everyone should be hated is kind of cringe and have a good day, I am not responding to this thread any longer because I do not want you to spend more time away from your responsibilities, you have made almost 800 posts and I personally would not want to reach that milestone. Have a wonderful day, I know you most likely do not act like this in your day to day life.

Again, I want to say I agree, if KC keep performing how they have, enghh is probably going to be the greatest coach to touch this game unless potter/alecks or kaplan (would need to win multiple events and place high in champs but even then I would probably give credit to JohnQT) can pull something (I don't say chet because pretty much every team hes joined or been on has what are considered the best players in NA), but I think that you misunderstand how much T2 duelist -> another role has happened. Mako, TenZ, demon1, Jawgemo, Tuyz, Less (short time period), Asuna, Zellsis, Life, Bang, Boostio, Cryo, Zyppan, Ardiis, Starxo, Sheydos, Jampii, Sayf, and Trexx are only some of the examples of this trend. I genuinely think that enghh probably had it a lot easier with the 3 rookies than it was to make magnum successful within his system. If N4RRATE, Tomaszy or Marteen did not get picked up by Karmine Corp, I guarantee they would have been picked up. Tomaszy was also definitely the best portuguese player, I do not think that is debatable lmao, he is an incredible player.

I agree with u that enghh is the goat but to say he scouted them was disingenuous, all 3 of the T2 players he got were all already well known talent; marteen was literally the only good player on his team and the only reason they reached ascension; N4RRATE was an insane entry fragger and was getting trialed by NRG and G2; Tomaszy is the greatest portuguese player to touch this game. If anything his greatest achievement with this roster is making magnum an actually insanely well thought out IGL.
