This. The desk talent work harder on stage (not talking about off stage grind here) than the players. Day in day out, shoots, commercials, promos etc etc
To begin, I respect all the players and I think they go under immense pressure during these games. But don't give me that "burnout" bullshit specially when we are talking about the current format and calendar of VCT. The players play once in a week or two with a whole month gap between the tournaments. Hell some teams play like 11 games in a whole year. So the whole "burnout" should never be an issue for you. Mf LeBron James at 40 is playing night in night out and you, a person in their 20s can't play continuous days of Valorant? I understand Sideshow has some good points and qualification to talk about these issues and I respect him for speaking out despite being employed by Riot but saying Burnout is a reason why EWC is a problem is just wrong. You can say everything like politics and discrimination and sports washing but burnout? Infact I will stay on my statement that they should do full round robins for each split. Put more pressure on the players. They can play 2 games of Valorant in a week.
It's formalities. When you are partners with a certain org, you have to say these things even if it is purely for the show.

So EWC recently released a list of partnered orgs (here is a link from Fnatic's twitter showing all the teams partnered with the organisation) and people are freaking out over it, which I get. You don't want your org to support something that seems morally wrong to you. It's a very human thing to think of. But let's be real here for a second. Your favourite orgs are not "The Good ones". They are business owners. Your favourite org is just a team to you, it's their whole life, the way they make money, their passion.

I am not. And I don't want to talk about it since I don't have the qualifications or ample research to speak on such things and I don't want to spread misinformation. I am just trying to speak from their pov. It's easy to dog on someone for going against your ideals but it's really important you step in their shoes.
Most esports orgs make thousands of dollars losses each year. This tournament prize money is huge (500k for winners in LoL last year) and playing and winning this tournament can be a huge shift in their yearly turnover. In an industry where you barely see any profit whole year, I don't expect anyone to stop or not participate in it because of morals.
At the end of the day, it's Morals vs Money, Morals vs Survival and morals don't pay the salary of your players. Ideally wouldn't have to choose between these but here we are. This isn't an ideal world.

No like I said, I loved the progression at the later half of last year. It was so competitive where the lowest wins any team got was 4 and 4th position qualified with 5-6. It was so competitive. It seems like they have taken a step back.

I think Pancada never really jelled with the team. He is a great player but Chemistry above everything else.
I could be a bit harsh but China so far has been a bit unwatchable. Last year specially stage 2 was some of the most fun Valorant I have seen. This year for some reason it just feels like the level has gone down a bit where the good teams are simply running away with it without any sort of competition from the lower or even mid table teams. This is not very fun.

If you watch someone's stream, everyone complains about the game. You just don't see them enough because the big clip channels don't clip them. Also I don't think he brings up wrong issues. Do you want him to just curl up and stay quiet instead of atleast trying to make a positive change in the game?

Problem is not that Doran is bad, contrary to popular belief, he is extremely good. But he ain't no Zeus who is a top 3 player in the world. Also Doran is a tank top and Zeus is a hypercarry. So the problem they came across was that they had no hypercarries in the team with Doran being a tank specialist and Guma being an util adc. Smash is a hypercarry specialist, hence they brought him in and kid shows promise. He absolutely killed Ruler in his second game with the team.
Tbf they didn't really underperform. They just lost to HLE in a game 5 due to a DOGSHIT format. HLE are by far the best team in the world (like massive diff), the fact that they took them to a game 5 with Smash after some of the worst drafts I have seen in game 3 and 5 is crazy in itself.
