their mental wont take a hit, if they are already going into the game mentality prepared to lose, also as i said before if they want to make it deep in champs they have to beat those teams anyway, we also have to consider we don't really know how seeding on other regions will play out and it's very possible for even 1st seeds to be put in groups of death just like last year's champs, and as for the playstyles thing, frost is literally from NA and coached NA and brazilian players alot, he is familiar with the chinese team too since he coached chinese teams in other fps and played vs EU in CSGO, frost has alot of experience, he knows other regions playstyle very well and implemented the good things onto this roster while maitaining the pacific identity, he won't struggle with antiing other regions, having said that i'm not saying talon have a good chance of going deep in champs (they don't) but what they are doing gives them the best chance to do good
yes, the goal is champs for them, sure they might get paired up agaisnt good teams cause of seeding, but if they want to make it deep in champs they have to beat those teams anyway, doing this will give them the best chance to do good in champs, so why would they realisticaly try their hardest in this to possibly get 4th seed anyway and then the champs teams have better anti?

it's the smartest thing to do in theory, sure seeding matters but it's like talon would have gotten 1-2nd seed by beating 2 of drx,prx and geng even with their full potential
he got a bottom feeder team from last year team into champs, where teams gain all the money from exposure and champions bundle, no bad coach can do that, i think talon management is probably more than happy with him in the team
