My cousin went to IIT because he also went to an institution which basically forced him to study for long hours. That was a big part on how he went to IIT, but he also said to get enough sleep and to hang out with friends/family or take a break after burnout. He said that being happy and not pushing through burnout was one of the biggest reasons on why he was able to study for a long time, and enough sleep helped him retain information better and made him feel less stress.
