agreed. Im excited to see in champs how comps change based on the results of masters

posted about a year ago

I get you. without loud we would be in a similair spot to emea this season definitely. And yeah saying random was j an exaggeration.
Regardless i am excited to see if a defined meta (americas) or more team preference comps (emea) will do better internationally, I understand that the comps that each team runs are the comps they think are the best

posted about a year ago

Tbh its a win win because I always wanted to learn it, its pretty similar to Sicilian in the fact that that its pretty similar to written Spanish but when its spoken its almost impossible to understand.
Loud being my second favorite team j gives me a good reason to finally commit myself

posted about a year ago

I guess my point is what is the point of making new comps if they arent meta. I feel like this thread is going in circles LMAO

I think we have two different definitions of innovation. Setting a meta vs just trying a lot of random comps. Me and Cresp see inovation as making a comp that is so dominatig that other teams switch, which is why we see a lot of mirrors. There was no meta innovation in emea, hence we see a lot of different comps

posted about a year ago

They really have, glad they have risen to the expectations since their roster is crazy.

posted about a year ago

I see more meta being making other teams switch, not necessarily winning something massive. (a better team can win something with a worse comp)

Ngl I forgot about icebox but yeah I would agree whoever started running harbor on that map the creator of that meta I have no idea who it is tho.

I really have no ill intent with my posts im not one of those americas supremacists, I was just commenting on the fact that americas has moved a lot more forwards towards defined metas than EMEA has, and how I personally think that will give americas teams a slight edge in tokyo on those maps (pearl and split mainly)

posted about a year ago

^
I think the only two maps with defined metas rn are split and pearl, both being made by loud (americas)

posted about a year ago

No it doesnt. Check #32, was just saying that to enforce that i am aware of the ascend comp. I agree that LOUD is the only americas team to create meta comps this season

posted about a year ago

It is an objective fact that optic defined the chamber meta i am going to stop arguing with you now

posted about a year ago

Optic popularized chamber so liquids split comp is optics. Makes a lot of sense

posted about a year ago

I do know that, 100t played it and lose to NRG on new comp. Also stop being weird we are having a rational conversation

Also I am talking for Americas. Not na

posted about a year ago

Meant sage mb. Also what are you talking about loud played bind for the first time yesterday and played chamber. Just because there is harbor viper doesn’t make it louds comp

posted about a year ago

Meta comps are comps that make other teams switch to them because they cannot find anything better. This has not happened in Emea. This is not a hard concept to understand. The existence of so many different comps in Emea should make you realize that there’s nothing meta being played.

posted about a year ago

Harbor viper sage raze skye

posted about a year ago

NRG made good bind comp
EG made good fracture comp

Yah the only true meta comps that have been made are louds on split and pearl but that is still Americas, still my point.

Also that is just this season, optic made many variations of chamber comp last season that were meta.

What new meta comps has EMEA produced? Until EG (The objectively most antistrat centered team) picks up a comp from an EMEA team I’m not convinced that EMEA has produced anything of value. When they pick up a comp that’s when you know it’s truly meta

posted about a year ago

Innovating and finding a meta comp and forcing other teams to switch because it’s objectively better **

Sayf and something are up there as well

Demon1 or Qw1 imo

I’ve been taking Portuguese duo lingo for three weeks in hopes I can eventually understand their streams better all of loud are very likable guys

BAMOO

posted about a year ago

I guess you are right, but I think the opportunity for a EG rematch and hopefully playing loud again will give them enough drive to win.
Regardless it will be a banga

posted about a year ago

Yes 🫡 good talk I hope our teams will meet in the finals

posted about a year ago

I think you are right that it will probably come down to Haven I honestly could see it go either way. However I think that what you missed is how different NRG looked on it yesterday than they did vs furia. This will make it inherently harder to antistrat imo. Fns looked a lot more comfortable calling on the new comp and I think they will be able to adjust to something that Potter throws at them.

I also think that ascent is NRG favored (I know that EG beat them on it). I know this sounds like I’m coping but NRG looked uncharacteristically lost on that map, independent of the antistrating of EG on that map. I think that potter won’t add much of anything new and NRG will come in looking much better, also with good VODs since EG just played Loud.

Finally I’m worried that Potter won’t ban Bind. I think that they had anti strat planned for the NRG comp (it’s realistic to assume that loud would’ve played harbor viper) which is why they looked so bad vs loud and she will let it through so that can use the antistrat. Regardless of what Potter came up with I still think NRG would win.

Realistically I think this game will come down to just how composed the two teams are, and I think EG we feel a lot more pressure knowing they need to make it into Tokyo playoffs than NRG who have never won a regional tournament being comfortable with their current position.

posted about a year ago

This ^.
Antistrating a team which you have already played twice in a best of 5 is near impossible, regardless of the skill of the coach

posted about a year ago

NRG made it clear that they were more than happy with just qualifying, and EG know they have to finish first if they want the smallest chance of winning Tokyo. I completely disagree

posted about a year ago

Can they realistically keep up antistrating for a BO5? Plus antistrating is more or less a one-and-done play style, if they play any of the maps they played in the last two BO3s NRG will be adjusted.

If this was their first time playing I would agree with you but antistrating can only go so far, now that EG have played almost all maps and already played NRG twice idek

posted about a year ago

I’m curious why you think EG will win.

Imo a loss will deter their momentum and NRG is pretty much playing with nothing to lose, being a team that never loses rematches.

Not to mention this is EGs first BO5 ever. EG can’t play better than they did against NRG last time and NRG can pretty much only go up since they threw that game.

(I’m not pissed I want to have a rational conversation)
