After the strong start of the first day of Masters, and the first EU vs NA game, the viewership seems to be pretty meh. I think is because ppl don't really care since most see SEN as the clear favourite making games less hype.

In comparison, minecraft currently have over 900k viewer, while valorant in their first internaitonal LAN can't even break 400k now. thoughts? What riot need to do to bring some hype back?

well that's part of the problem of it. If SEN is playing, viwership is good. But it is not healthy for esports viewership when there's only viewer when 1 team is playing

well a large part of it being that the favorites in most regions didn't make it i.e. 100t, VS, gambit, Acend, Gamelanders. Think if any other NA team besides V1 made it then there would be a lot more because this game's popularity is off the back NA hype and V1 although probably, at this point, easily top 2/3 in NA they aren't popular at all with the audiences over there

that's part of the issue I am saying. After the initial 'hype' viewership just can't follow up at all. Even though this match is a lower bracket final

think about it tho, The tourney doesn't have many of the favorites from minor regions, like for example, VS missed out because NU made it instead, CR is good but doesn't have much hype around them and with SEN in here, it was obvious they would most likely win

today we have the UCL finals and its pretty clear SEN its going to win cause of how bad european teams are looking so no need to watch either

Less regions alive = less viewers

It was the same thing in MSI

Japanese and brazilians lost interest and both regions was getting big viewers numbers for example

i said struggling to break 400k after the initial hype. I know viewership is very good on first day (and games that NA play), but as I said hype died down afterwards.

400k-500k for every match doesnt seem bad for an event that isnt even the World championship. Plus Valorant is just over a year old, the esport will keep growing as time goes on.

yea I know what you mean, I think the way valorant differs from overwatch is how riot handles balancing and feedback. I feel like blizzard did what they felt was right vs how riot is handling it by taking feedback from pros and what people are telling them. I also think the fact that its a tac shooter vs hero shooter gives it an inherent advantage in the esports scene as they are the biggest genre other than mobas and maybe COD
