What do you guys think of a unified SEA+HKTW region for VCT? Where any team can get any player from any SEA country without player import restriction.

yep! imagine the support and viewership one team could get if they have 5 players with different nationalities on 1 team
regions sending their best teams seems more fun cause its like a mini international tourney where diff regions have diff playstyle so its unpredictable who'll actually win ykwim and superteams are going to be pretty hard to form considering language barrier so most teams who form would probably go with their own 5 players from their region
yep i agree that it would be hard due to the language barrier but i think that a lot of pros know english to some extent(or atleast the callouts) considering that they have to grind rank with people who are not from the same country
I don't think that's a good Idea since that would mean a combined qualifier too this will lead to only certain countries from SEA improving as orgs would only be interested in investing in stronger teams but rn they atleast have a local national scene (TH/ID >> VN for example)
same parallel can be drawn for KR and JP if they combine it then Japan will bring the money and Korea will bring the talent
also HK TW JP KR CN could have separate seeding to masters as APAC North
and TH ID VN MYSG PH SA OCE as APAC South
this is true to some extent but somehow i feel that the current format wont be sustainable in the far future. over time there will be countries that like valorant and others that wont. we are already seeing this happen with HKTW where their local orgs wouldnt even bother signing players from their own region.
IMO, they should copy the EMEA format, with slight changes.
combined league with no SEA import rules + regional leagues with country based import rules.
isnt EMEA just divided into EU CIS and TR
with only rule that you need to have 3 players from that region?
riot did say that they want to implement this system through out the world however i feel like if they implemented it here in SEA they would still keep the import rules
The teams will be more competitive but at the same time it would kill the TIer-2 scene, same as what happened on CS:GO.
