VCT PH is weird

among 4 VCT SEA like Indonesia, Thailand, HK/TW, MY/SG, etc

VCT PH is the only challenger that the main event is only has 8 teams to compete.

Other VCT like even VCT Vietnam has 16 teams in the main event.

why?

so sad the arguably most competitive sub region in SEA has the worst format

but to be honest the reason is probably because PH is playing a double round robin instead of double elim, where ID and MY/SG is doing

The problem is their group stage only 8 team. Their open qualifier is so little team join.
If only they more open at the registration and invite more teams and make the group stage consist 16 team like any other SEA challenger it's not gonna be weird like this now.

you guys don't know anything but literally everyone can join, I believed like there's 20 teams that participated in a (non-live qualifier) it's just that only 4 teams are allowed to join the other 4 invited teams.
