I found out someone in one of my classes I had never talked to played valorant so I asked him what rank he was. He said he was gold 2 and I said above average rank thats pretty good. Another guy in this class didn’t have the same opinion and said everyone below plat is bad (ofc this guy was plat 1 so his ego was big). I wanna know what rank everyone considers to be good or bad. I think that iron-silver is bad, gold-plat ur a decent player, and dia+ ur really good.

in my humble opinion, silver to plat is all the same. i spend all my time in gold, and i’ve run into decent silvers and bottom frag plats in my lobbies. like genuinely open up the scoreboard and wonder how the enemy g3/p1 goes 5-14 in a gold lobby. it’s a swamp of mediocrity that only “good players” (aka diamond talent and above) can rise through.
respectfully, do you spend time in lower ranks, too?
because i could get “lucky” with a win streak and make it to plat in a day without improving one bit. or a plat could get “unlucky” and lose down to gold without getting worse at the game. it’s all the same really.
now, if you meant five “true gold players” with exactly “gold skill level” vs five “true plat players” with exactly “plat skill level” (however those are defined), then you would be right. but competitive valorant is too wack to support the theoretical.
either way, GL to you in your games.
anything around plat is average, new act included. Rank reset does not affect your elo, so you keep playing with people of your level, just grind your rank again and you'll end up like last act.
I'll say diamond 2 is considered good enough. Any plat 2 could reach diam 1 easily if they keep grinding. Diamond 1 players keep making the sames mistakes as plat players (not including players that reached ranks over diam 2 and deranked, they most likely know how to avoid taking the same decisions).
I correct, not average but decent. Average is around silver 2 and gold 2 (not gold 3 bc a good part of them are deranked plats). Any plat 2 player could reach diamond in a month only with aim training. That's definitely not the case for gold players and those who play in the elo hell that is silver.
If you're basing it off pure statistics then gold/plat but in terms of skill D3/Low Immortal(even then its 50/50), since most of the ranks all you really need is a good winstreak which really isnt hard only until you get to those ranks does it really matter for instance I peaked Immo 300 RR and I consider myself average at the game.
I would personally only call Immortal+ players good. I think its just mainly due to fact that I tend to think that people worse than me are not that good, since I don't see myself as that "good" player and I see a lot of faulties in my gameplay from mechanical skill to ability usage, game sense, movements etc.
But obviously statistically even plat players are decently good, but as I said I just think even average diamond player is pretty bad.
I think that you should easily get to immortal every season to be considered good. If you're a hardstuck diamond and happend to get immortal once or twice, grinding hard, then you're not there yet
And bear in mind that there is also a huge gap between a hardstuck immortal and a "every season radiant" player
reading this, basically it's "whatever rank I am is good, anything below me is bad" lol. objectively speaking, you don't see real competitive/coordinated play in ranked until at least D1, gold/plat are both elo hell for mid-tier players who can hit their shots but aren't great at utility usage and coordinating plays yet, and anything silver and below usually means either bad PC, not enough playtime, or a combination of the two. I'm P3 peak, and play on a diamond team for scrims, just for reference. most ranks within 6 tiers are indistinguishable, even to a pro player, which makes those "Guess their rank" videos that teams like C9 do more interesting.
To be honest, immortal is a decent player.. but based in last act I would say Immortal3+ is a high tier player.
I cannot judge because for me everyone lower than Immortal is bad, watching some players screen I felt like as if with parkison, some Immortal cannot aim well, no crosshair placement, low reaction. I'm still biased towards CS because for me I always found having superior aim is ALL.
But right now in Valorant some people with a shit aim still getting Immortal3+ playing Sentinels, Smoke, etc. Being a ward is strong.
