im assuming you mean kimbap, and the main difference is sushi usually uses raw fish and kimbap usually uses cooked meats and other vegetables

explain it to him like chinese/korean noodles like zhazhangmien/jjajangmyeon which a noodle dish older than pasta is basically the same as the italians version but its not. both has noodles and sauce but the ingredients used and styles making it make it different like gimbap and sushi
