When will the phantom and vandal be nerfed. I feel like we have been in a rifle meta since the start of the game and I feel like the phantom and vandal greatly outperforms many guns that cost more than them.

It literally would've been perfect if the T1-TS game and the DRX-PRX game went right, the rest would've fallen into place
that doesn't make sense at all guns that cost more will be better than guns that are cheaper i'm not sure what you want them to do unless they limit you to how many of your team members can have a rifle in the same round but that makes 0 sense because you could pick one up, or maybe they limit how many the entire team can buy in one game but then ot screws that up unless you then get x amount per round of ot. just seems like an unnecessary thing to worry about
They're balanced in the sense that they're not overpowered. The thing these plots show is that the other guns are bad, but the phantom and the vandal are perfectly fine. You can't buff other guns too much because it starts to make no sense in buying the more expensive ones. Ares is an example, it was an ok gun for its price and when they buffed it, it got so OP that they nerfed it to the point no one uses it anymore. Same with bucky
Im guessing this might be your first tactical FPS game? Cause having rifles like the Phantom (M4) or Vandal (AK) is probably the most important in these type of games over using every gun in the game. It just feels wrong in a tactical shooter not to have rifles as the strongest since those are probably the most skilled based over using something like SMGs and Shotguns and we just run at each other and hope RNG is on our side
Prior to Valorant the fps games that I've played on PC were CSGO, R6, and Apex. Although I was only decent rank in R6 and Apex, so I wouldn't really say I was well versed in CS. I personally found this topic of gun balancing even worse in CS when compared to Valorant. A majority of weapons are practically useless in CS. I feel like the phantom and vandal are also inherently RNG as well, the future I envision is that after the hard nerf to the phantom and vandal, they should increase the price of the guardian. The guardian can be your "skill" gun. The guardian is what I could like most rifles to be. It takes forever to kill with body shots but its very accurate making it very good at the 30-50 meter range. I dislike the effectiveness of the vandal and phantom at all ranges and that's what I would like the nerf to be.
Okay if they are supposed to all-rounders then they should nerf it at the 30-50 meter range because right now its the most dominant at that range. I say nerf the move speed too, its one of the most dominant guns to peek with. Ands nerf the accuracy, most accurate weapon class when hipfired. My point is if the gun is supposed to be an all rounder, why is it so dominant in every aspect of the game, shouldn't it be average or slightly above average in these categories.
tbh I kinda get what youmean. You want some variations like p90 but in valorant right? So it adds variation to the game, not just rifle every round
I think if riot decides to add p90-like smg in the game, they should make it cost as much as bulldog, kinda like spectre and ares which have the same cost but different type.
That is legit the dumbest post on vlr.
The system is balanced enough u can’t compare a vandal to a judge or Odin
Everything got his + and his -
Vandal: great overall can’t wall bang shit, not good with spraying + see bullets through smokes
Phantom: Great for spraying shit for long range can’t wall bang
Odin: Shit in close range good for spraying/getting control can wall bang
Spectre/stinger: sgit for long range great for closerange
Shotgun in general: great for holding space close.
Obv that there a Certain weapons that dominates
L Take
That's the thing though. Why does the vandal and phantom have medium penetration? Also since vandal doesn't have damage drop off it does the same wall bang damage at all ranges. You move very fast with rifles compared to the rest of the guns at 5.4 m/s. What I'm saying is that the rifles specifically the phantom and vandal has too much positives are seen in like 90% of rounds.
You cannot be real bro, you have to be like some kind of little critter
Med pen is barely enough for thin walls and crates. Even a ghost has medium wall pen. And wallbang damage decreases the thicker the wall and the type of material. Rifles arent even that good at wallbanging anything excet maybe corners and wooden/radianite crates (even rad crates have a metal part that rifles cant pen)
Also, obviously rifles have more positives than cheaper weapons. Theyre more expensive and meant to be consistent all-rounder weapons rather than special weapons. And the odin/op have more negatives than rifles sure but thats only to offset the fact that the odin and op are SO good at what theyre MEANT to do, if they didnt have those extra drawbacks, theyd be TOO strong.
Rifles are also literally the most balanced gun because EVERY SINGLE GUN is balanced relative to them. They are the gold standard middle ground weapon. At the MOST you can ask for a buff to other weapons except for rifles, unless something is objectively broken with rifles in which case they can be FIXED, not nerfed or buffed really (and this has already happened ages ago in the past, so theyre not going to do it again). If you nerf rifles you fucking break the games entire economy/buy system because they lose their place as middle ground and suddenly a super cheap weapon is better value than the rifle. Other tac FPS games work off this same principle of the standard of balance. Valorant is not the problem at all, infact its weapon balancing is millions of times better than like, CS for example. Genuinely awful take brother
