I really hope vct 25 has better formats cause this is horrible, why not a proper group stage with bo1’s? Have more games in total, have the teams play against more teams and allow them to actually prove they can qualify? I have never seen a good format since 21

bo1 is too small a game in every way -entertainment, actual team talent, etc. bo3 are fine, i think a longer calender would fix everything.

bo1 is just not it, u can be unlucky sometimes as a team.
bo3 is the perfect series for games.
but why are there 3 games in americas tommorrow and today there is one?

riot is just hardcore failing at planning a good schedule

I think 3 games in one day cz all these teams will be playing to qualify for playins and playing on the same day gives them equal time to prep and stuff

you dont play everyone in split 1 and split 1 decides who quals for masters. so there could be worse teams going to masters bc they played easier enemies

Because prior to 2023 they thought this calendar was a good idea (they gave their reasons for it), and because they plan these schedules a long time ahead, they couldn't change the 2024 calendar in time (specifically, changing the calendar would mean re-negotiating every single advertising contract. they sell advertising slots for specific dates and times, so it's quite inflexible). Major format changes in global sports always take at least 2 years before they respond to feedback.

Like I agree the schedule is shit, but it was clearly planned before 2023 and before they received negative community feedback.

Schedule wise, 2024 season was affected due to CN ascension end of december.
Pacific and CN share +-1 hour timezone difference, one has to end early and the other one has to start to give each region screentime, hence pacific schedule more packed than EMEA/Americas.
VISA, Non 1st world countries can take up to 3-6 months of visa (upto 3 month pacific, 6 months for brazil to USA) to get work permission on hub country to compete. This widely affected end of season -> start of season for scheduling.
Format can only cater to scheduling with above factors.

Agreed. This format is complete trash. At least let there be a group stage before the playoffs? Or just have the regular season before a huge knockout tournament? riot employees suck at the most basic things its crazy.

if the play offs were just double elim it wouldn't be that bad but the fact the the best team could have 1 off day then that's them out is just dumb
