I bought a ram memory to improve my notebook, and when I put it on while playing a game or playing with programs my notebook restarts or the screen freezes with the image full of glitch. In the end I will have to continue with only 8GB of the initial configuration of the notebook ;(

omg it happened to me twice. 1st time 1 bought a RAM stick with lower memory speed compared to my other RAM stick. for 2nd time I got the right one but it somehow got electro static damage (its very rare).
I'm not an expert but here are my suggestions.

Your other RAM stick should be same as your pre installed one. (in terms of ram type and memory speed)
You can reinstall drivers. ( for display and memory)
You can check for bios update if it has any compatibility issues.
If nothing works return the muffin RAM.

I remember bricking(destorying) my macbook by installing the ram stick myself. U can try ask the repair shop to do it instead or see if it's compatible.
