i cheered for SHD every single match because i wanted geguri to do well

its pretty good for the brand, if the player is competent enough.

G2 had a GC team while carlos was still the ceo, why? because its good for the brand.

another example is potter, people cheered for EG because they had a female coach and fans want females to do well and succeed

I think if he didn't name drop Mel no one would have cared. Everyone would be like women aren't good enough to be in coed rosters but since she is someone respected by the entire community, associating her added more weight and hopefully future pros won't face similar treatment.
