No you are wrong here, during colonialization Britishers used to send indians to African nation and South American nations for what you call slavery (not exactly they used to say they will return them to indian when work is over but that never happens) mostly for growing opium but when britishers lost the grip on Indian subcontinent and India became democracy all the people who were left there in Africa ,South America remained there.
Those people generally took pride in their culture and never changed the naming style, like you can see people from South America and Africa having indian ancestors names like Sunil Narayan and by religion he could be Muslim ( keep in mind narayan is literally of the most prominent God name in hinduism)
