Why are people trying to compare them, CSGO has 400k peak viewers for the first lan in over a year in semis and valorant never had less than 400k viewers during Iceland. Iceland is more popular than Cologne and it’s not even a debate.
For you maybe but for people who have mastered the game they will rarely move. You can see old players still playing on 20 year old games like Starcraft and Warcraft 3. Friendlies are still being played in half life AGHL community. Quake/UT3 player still playing even tho the concept of the game is like 25 years old now. There are still cups still run in cs1.6 by fastcup. People still play Ragnarok Online or WoW, Minecraft is still popular too for the more recent games.
So you are wrong.
I only see Valorant people comparing it to CSGO. Two completely different events though. Iceland was Valorant’s first ever big tourney, first international tourney, first ever LAN. It was hyped up and was destined to do good. The Co streams help as well. This event is just the first LAN back for CS which is good, but it’s a studio lan. It’s a start so that’s good. But the only people I see comparing is Val players.
I’m not denying there are CSGO players who hate Valorant but there are just as many Valorant players who hate on CS. That’s all I’m trying to point out but whatever -6 frags mean, guess people don’t like hearing the truth. Go on Valorant twitter and you will see countless kids hating on CS calling it dead or dying. It’s all over this site as well.
