made it so close and could've won against Optic, who is a contender?
And the LAN nerves got better after game 1, they did worse against PRX. Why?
emiliatanmajitenshi [#3]so whats your theory... do you think they cheated or something
my theory is that LAN nerves was not a factor in their performance, like many people say
weferf [#6]my theory is that LAN nerves was not a factor in their performance, like many people say
oh ok that makes sense i respect your opinion
helohelo [#7]Of course they weren't they played well against DRX
They played DRX better than TG played Optic?
zardinez [#11]If you watch valyn's interview, it's pretty obvious that this wasn't how they expected to play. Nerves just got to them and it happens. I'd imagine a bunch of people expecting big things from them as NA's #1 seed could add a lot of pressure as well.
Not trying to take anything away from PRX, they played great and put a ton of pressure on TGRD with their aggressiveness and individual skill.

again, if they are so nervous, even more so in Optic game because it's their first LAN game, why did they make it so close?
having a strong mental is one of the most important parts of being a competitor. if your mental isn't as strong as the other team and you lose, youre just not as good. it's not an excuse. saying a team had a weak mental isn't a copout. if it consistently affects your ability to win, then you suck. that's it. not that deep.
weferf [#14]again, if they are so nervous, even more so in Optic game because it's their first LAN game, why did they make it so close?
I'd say that one is slightly different becasue they're playing against a team they've played against many many times. That adds a level of familiarity. I'm not quite sure what point you're trying to make, but if it's something like, TGRD are just bad and suck as a team and NA sucks as a whole, imma have to hard disagree.

No. The point at hand is LAN nerves was not a factor in the game against PRX like people say. PRX was just a better team today. Accept your defeat. Don't say any excuses, move on and get better next time.

Can it not be both? I agree that PRX was a better team today and their style worked perfectly against TGRD, but I ALSO believe that some TGRD players (like trent) played a lot more passive than they usually would becasue they were nervous. Does that mean TGRD would beat PRX every time online? No not at all. Does it mean they might've made it more competitive? Yes. I think they'll come back stronger and I'm excited to watch them in the future, just like I'm excited to watch Loud, DRX, Optic, G2, PRX, and Zeta continue fighting in Masters.
quake3arena [#20]you act like nerves dont matter. it does. if you got nerves of steel, it will make you a better competitor aka better results aka better team. if you lose because of nerves, you are worse than the other team.
I never said it does not matter, I said it was not a factor in their loss, because even with more nerves, they did well against Optic

how is it not a factor lmao they couldnt get their shit together. does saying that they choked discredit PRX's win? is that what you're thinking? not sure what point you're even trying to make.
