It's obvious Sick doesn't like it when Jason dips and leaves a game just because a female is in the game, and it honestly starts to seem like some Toxic Friendship, especially with how nervous he gets

1234567890 [#4]sick has said that he wants to remain neutral (which I disagree with, he should be speaking up on it given the weight of the situation) but I think it's more so that he feels uncomfortable calling him out given that they were friends prior to the incident blowing up.
if a guy wanna stay neutral let him stay neutral
a dude doesnt have to give his opinion about everything
Rainyy [#5]if a guy wanna stay neutral let him stay neutral
a dude doesnt have to give his opinion about everything
given that sexism is a huge issue in the community already and also the size of sick's fanbase+viewers, I think he should speak up on it. there have been multiple streamers either not speaking up on the issue or saying that they're neutral because they don't want to be caught up in "drama" which makes it seem like the situation isn't serious when it absolutely is.
but to each their own ig.

given that how rampant sexism is in the esports industry, being neutral just means u r siding with the bad guy
idk nor care much about the situation but from what I understood his wife is insecure and that's why he does it. I have no idea if sexism is involved but seems unrealistic considering his wife is supposedly the main reason. Honestly, even though it's weird, it doesn't seem like a big deal, seems like people are just trying to find stuff to be mad about.

The problem is being on the receiving end of this, imagine you don't talk in agent select and get into the game just to be muted by this dude and it ruins the whole experience. It's also not fun having to re-queue all the time.

I get it, but can't really relate. In EU it's like everyone is muted or Spanish.

Judging from his comments on women back in the CS days and banning them in his chat to this day, i think it has something more to do with just his wife.

there's no way sexism is "unrealistic" in this situation.... yes his wife may be a part of it but we don't know the reasoning behind his actions for sure. the thing we can guarantee is that dodging and muting based on gender alone is a problem and it is absolutely a big deal; saying that it isn't is just a reflection of the blatant sexism that has always been in the esports industry. along with his overall attitude when talking about women + the situation in general.... not a good look
Netero [#12]Judging from his comments on women back in the CS days and banning them in his chat to this day, i think it has something more to do with just his wife.
ye, it's super weird. did he give a reason for the bans and those comments?
Daniveus [#14]ye, it's super weird. did he give a reason for the bans and those comments?
no reasoning will justify his actions or words.... yes, my wife is insecure so I call women hoes and mute them? whatever the reason may be that's a shitty thing to do

blatant sexism, questionable.
Daniveus [#16]shitty thing to do, yes.
blatant sexism, questionable.
i can see why blatant sexism is questionable, but there's more to the situation than jason's actions themself. it's also about who it affects. how are we going to expect to fully integrate women into the scene comfortably when there's someone muting them right when they queue in? how are we going to make women feel like they belong in esports when they're being treated this disrespectfully and as unequal? whatever his intentions or reasoning may be, i'm more concerned about who his actions are affecting and the negative impact that it has on valorant.
DELUSIONAL_FANS_DESTROYER [#17]Jason wife is transgender, that's why she's insecure about jason seeing another real girl.

to that I can't give a fair answer. I personally wouldn't really care if someone did the same to me.

did u not see the whole thing about girls being trolled in scrims by guy teams and stuff because they are women, there's absolutely no way women will fully integrate because of "boys being boys" mentality, look up Sinatra i don't doubt he's a good example

Daniveus [#27]yes, I also haven't seen anyone suffer from it irl, guy or girl. Anyways, this to me seems more like a personal issue and not a gender issue tho I can't be sure.
the world doesn't revolve around you and your experiences. if you don't think it's a gender issue then you're either unaware or extremely ignorant towards real world issues.

The issue is like it's made out to be, an issue, but it's one persons issue, Sick may not be supporting it but like with the sinatra situation he didn't exactly support or deny support for him, he stayed neutral and i don't see anyone calling him out then for being a sympathiser to a "rapist", quotes because it wasn't proven.
So why is he involved with JasonR's situation when it's so much of a smaller and less meaningful issue, wow content creator mutes women in valorant "CANCEL", Pro player accused of rape "nah he's chill", Like tf is the consistency here, riot may not be consistent at punishment but neither are the community.
So many people wanna jump on jasonR for doing something which could literally for him be a good thing in reality if he is sexist, think about it for a second, if your sexist it's not your choice, u were grown that way to have the urge to hate women, usually imbred in you from birth, family or religion etc, that's the basics, same with pedophilia etc, some may like it, some may not, JasonR's choice if he is sexist actually minimalizes the issues caused, if he dodges or mutes if there is a woman, he cannot be sexist, if he dodges a game because there is a woman, who is it actually hurting in reality, the woman can queue again and then get another team, it's literally that simple, she is never gonna know why or give a shit why, I don't really understand why this is such a big deal tbh.
feel free to explain

if he's born an asshole, he's still an asshole. maybe he should listen to the thousands of people who are calling him out rather than the singular amount of people who raised him
sexism in esports has always been a huge issue. to have a popular streamer dodge and mute girls, talk about them as if they're less than him; it doesn't matter his intentions or his reasoning behind his actions. if you do this based on gender alone you're an asshole. one of your points was that it's not hurting the woman because she can queue again; just how much does the woman have to do? queue a game, get shit talked because girls can't play video games. play another, someone hears your voice and dodges. some people are just assholes to everyone, yes, but to be shit talked based on something you can't control is frustrating.
I remember that one clip where he was told to dodge a lobby and he said "nope, can't dodge. there might be a bitch on the team and people are gonna hate me!" and his entire chat is laughing. is this the community we want to build? he's mocking the situation, he's mocking women, for what? for existing? even the smallest actions of dodging and muting can make a big impact
integrating women into the pro scene, getting more women and girls interested and excited to play video games is gonna be tough if this is the valorant community. it makes me frustrated that we're just brushing off something that is rooted in sexism and is doing nothing but negative things to esports culture

say that girls are treated with the same respect in video games as guys with a straight face. this whole situation literally proves that wrong and is the antithesis to that

I mean tbh, It's not particularly like it's an "easy" community in the first place, it's hard to stay sane here while playing val, as a white male with a normal accented voice that doesn't get called out, i get teammates in plat/diamond who don't even understand basic things like containment etc and it makes me wanna scream at them but somehow it's my fault for not calling something, nothing is ever the average valorant players fault, that is the issue, that is the community that has already been built, u act like the community is still building, it was still building when sentinels were on top of the world and teams had no idea how to play pro properly yet, that's when the community was building, the community has been built and the toxicity around it has been allowed, i'm not saying it's nice or it's right in anyway and i personally don't agree with it but it's how it is and it's gonna be hella hard to change about 15 million peoples minds as few people, I like people like AverageJonas etc, because i feel like he isn't that type however there are people like that and that's just how it will be, a lot of the pro scene is toxic as heck and that's just because it is sometimes, This is how Valorant is, it's how it has already been moulded,
the "mocking" the situation is because he doesn't see it as a big deal, personally like i don't, because i think of other people and not jason's actions and feelings, what is a girl actually gonna think if the game just gets dodged "oh someone dodged queue again", the situation from the girls pov is kind of that simple to me, if u go out of your way to find out jason dodged you for no reason i feel like that's going out of your way to find a reason to be annoyed at someone who doesn't even know who the hell u are, which to me is petty as hell
I said this above, but toxicity is in the pro scene too, there are scrims which get cancelled because male teams just ghost and start messing around in them, that happens. u just don't hear about it usually, it's why they have a girls only league, and why woman and men don't wanna compete against each other usually i think.
"sexism in esports has always been a huge issue", Sure, But that isn't down to people, That is down to the fundamental's passed down, u aren't sexist because u "just hate women" usually, u get it from family, genes, relatives, same with racism etc, it's not learned, it is taught, it's down to the people at the top, not the people accusing jason of sexism.
"but to be shit talked based on something you can't control is frustrating", Fair.

like i said; some people are just assholes to everyone, not just women. i get that everyone deals with toxicity, the toxicity we deal with is different obviously. i've gotten those teammates before as well. i can easily tell if my teammate is an asshole or a sexist asshole, and I hate the latter so much more. when it comes to braindead teammates, there's really nothing you can do about it. but when it comes to sexism, there is so much that we can do to break barriers for women in gaming yet, like this situation, keeps getting brushed off. yes, the valorant scene and the world in general is sexist. we can't just say 'whatever' because its always been this way; you said it yourself. men troll scrims against women, it's passed down generation to generation. why can't we do something about it? are you okay with the community being like this?
anyway thanks for reading, just wanted to give my perspective on this situation (i'm really tired and i'm gonna go to bed but hope your dinner was good) we all have our opinions and i can't change yours but all good ig
as long as you're not an asshole to women for no reason in your ranked games i hope you have a good day/night

Look, I get it. It is obvious that women are not treated the same way as men when playing, there will always be toxic people that think it's funny to mock others for whatever reason, I never said otherwise.
I am merely talking about the issue at hand. If someone mutes you or dodges the game because of you, why should you care?
He is not being disrespectful towards women, he is just ignoring them, which might sound awful but it's really not, because if someone ignores you then it's your own fault if that annoys you. Most people would just move on and not even think about it. There are bigger problems than just that.

yeah, sure. maybe we can focus on bigger problems like you said, the gaming community will never get better anyway so why even try, right?
you might as well replace "most people" with men. they don't think about it because it doesn't mean anything to begin with. but for women to be treated as less than for centuries and still to this day we're brushing off is really frustrating
all I'm asking for is for women to be treated equally as men. this situation clearly does not demonstrate that. what else do you want? do you only care about an issue when it affects you? because i'm so tired of men telling me that it's not sexist and to just brush it off when i'm the one experiencing it first hand along with so many other girls. you clearly see the flaws in the industry yet you choose to not do anything about it
but hey, we all have our opinions and i'm not changing yours. thanks for reading my replies. have a good night
