Valorant Game Director Joe Ziegler has taken to Twitter to announce that a competitive mode is likely to launch next week. Players have only been able to queue for Unrated and Spike Rush matches since the game's launch on June 2.
Hey everyone, It's been hectic, so I haven't had a lot of time to post. To answer the biggest question: rated (competitive mode) will likely be out some time next week. We're spending this week putting together that release and making sure it is good. =)

A ranked mode was previously tested during the Valorant beta. Players were required to complete 20 Unrated matches before they could unlock the competitive mode which featured eight ranks ranging from Iron to VALORANT. It is currently unclear what changes will be made to the mode when it launches.
