Idk maybe it's a new gen thing (yes I'm an unc at the ancient age of 26). I've competed in volleyball, badminton, and tennis in HS, as well as coaching the junior volleyball teams. The T1 situation didn't phase me, like that's just competitive spirit? especially in Asia, this is honestly nothing. If it wasn't on cam or on stage, I bet sylvan gets flamed even more.

I get the unorgininal saying that the new gen is soft like Charmin, but honestly, like would yall get offended by buzz or autumn's comments? Like genuinely, I think it's just tough love. Like dude you played like garbonzo beans or had bad comms, so fix up for next time. I've had my coaches ask me if something is going on at home or if I was disabled because I played bad, and guess what? I was like you're right, mb coach and played better next time

I think it's more of the fact BuZz said this during the game instead of after the game/between maps. Obviously the esports scene in Korea is insanely competitive so it would make sense for BuZz to say things like that but during the game?

I get that completely, but if you're heated midgame, would you hold it in til post-game? I mean I've said the same thing to my premier teammates

all this reminds me of when an EDG league coach told their old midlaner that he was basically useless, told him that everyone except him was improving

asian esports is no joke

Fosho, like I feel they picked on Slyvan in this instance (possibly because he is the youngest *i didnt check, just guessed), but overall the Asian competitive culture is generally toxic but I mean the results/the proof is in the pudding

ur right but esports is much more abt ur mentality than pushing urself to ur phsyical limits breaking thru and playing well is mostly on ur mental its why some players have it and some never will all a coach in a videogame can do is put u in the right position and you have to do the rest

and buzz was doing any better? bro is ass and got carried to a masters win lmao, and Autumn doesn't even provide any value bro just talks shit with no real criticism. Def not a generation thing you just don't understand what makes a good team.

You act like the team wasn't carried by meteor and numerous clutches from all members. The whole T1 team was negative during the GF. Buzz was crucial in their path to the GF, playing great against EDG and Vit. Even the last map of the GF, he played bad all 4 before that but came through at the end.

Funny coming from a sen fan

I mean for some people “tough love” is not effective and works counter-productively
Surprise: insulting people in their face doesnt make them play better whattt??

Idk, i just think it gets to a point tho, lke I just thought it was really funny carpe was there to tell Sylvan, "That was not your fault" post Split vs Red Force after being blamed for randomness. The culture is definitely different, but it gets to a point where they were basically trying to supplement Sylvan as a scapegoat for them making mistakes

try being Sylvan in that situation bro, lets see if you would like being disrespected and blamed the whole time of your career.

Been there, done that. Was told I was trash by teammates and coach, didn't get in my feelings and got in the lab. Played better next time 👍

honestly if you saw nothing wrong with the T1 situation, then believe that, all I saw is that BuZz was a dick to Sylvan the whole timeand Autumn and Stax basically enabled that environment aswell. I personally think that is a bad and toxic team environment and is very wrong. If you agree with what they're doing then idk what to say.

Being 100% with you, that's the environment I grew up in. That toxicity is what drives certain people, especially in the eastern parts of the world. I can almost be certain that olympic medalists aren't coddled and told ohh nice try after coming up short. They aren't doing it to be dicks, it's as I said tough love to get better. It's all mindset, if you are shaken by banter or toxicity then how will you perform on the stage? When opponents taunt you by actually saying you're shit? As my coach said, "you think they cared you tried your hardest, the only thing they'll remember is the results". If you think the T1 thing is toxic, you have seen nothing yet.

I'll give you another real world example, would you tell to your friends face that theyre fat? My perspective is since I'm a friend and I care about them, I would voice that they're gaining weight and if they need help with that. I just don't believe in sugarcoating things, (same with in game, esports or normal sports, if you played bad, then own it and be better). If the person isn't receptive to it, that's fine then we move on, but I've made my efforts to inform and reach out to them.
