According to indian mythology, on this day lord ram came back to his kingdom ayodhya after spending 14 years in exile & defeating the evil. So, basically we celebrate homecoming of him.

I don't even burst cracker to celebrate anything be it my birthday or be it marriage or be it any festival or occasion. So, even diwali is not an exception as well.
