The path for Hals to Tier 1 is longer and harder that's because there's Meiy on DFM and there are a lot of duelist in Japan waiting to be picked the moment Dep retires. For all we know zeta might just chose to turn Syouta in Duelist next year which make sense.

I feel like Aace and Caedye are competing for the same spot lol

Hals has shown before that he can play more than just a duelist. So if he gets to the tier 1, he is unlikely to play a duelist
