in my 4 years of playing the game, i've never seen ranked be this fucked up

people act like their entire family just got murdered, it's actually so depressing

esports is great and all, but i don't understand how riot is not doing anything to fix ranked

And what would you do to fix ranked?

This whole conversation is so burnt, same shit happened on League and CS and people still invest thousands of hours in the same gimmick.

Time it's taken it's toll on the game and people doesn't enjoy it anymore because they see it as a chore more than a game.

insentives: skins, free rp, endorsement system

just anything but the same gun buddy you get every act

and also make people register with a unique phone number, so people don't just throw/don't try bc they have a smurf

that or just allow faceit

I can tell you that even if they gave a free premium deluxe vandal/phantom/operator skin for getting gold or + rank or just for playing ranked and keeping a good behaviour , the improvement would be minimal. Shooters are just doomed to have ego rankers no-lifers all the time.

Faceit probably won't ever happen because how closed and non-cooperative RIOT is with third parties. Not everyone is willing to provide their personal phone number just to play a game, seems stupid but it could take a toll on possible new players. People just wants to register and play, they don't want any extra steps.

THIS. absolutely no rewards for playing comp. the fact brawl stars (a game i hate) gives more rewards for playing ranked than RIOT GAMES is insane to me idk (could be the difference between mobile gaming and PC/console gaming but istg I've seen other games with such a better system for ranked)

you should play ranked if:

1 - you have friends to play and have fun

2 - you want to grind the game and become a pro player so you get payed to play

otherwise its just a waste of time
