does counter strafing actually do anything in Valorant?

by counter strafing i do NOT mean just shooting and strafing, thats what ur always supposed to do since people always think counter strafing is just 2 tap bursting then strafing

counter strafing is briefly tapping the opposite movement key between strafes to stop faster as in CS u dont instantly stop like Val

some pros and coaches say counter strafing is good whilst others say it does nothing

doesn't do shit since the players don't have movement acceleration like CS does. If you press wasd, it's instantly at max speed and if you let go of it, you've stopped.

If you play Valorant with a magnetic switch keyboard, you don't even have to think about counter strafing.

Counter strafe doesnt do much in val only a tiny bit difference but that tiny bit is very valueable in top 0.1%

they do wideswing and aim flicking.

It does more than people say imo. The difference is only of a few milliseconds, but when you're used to it it feels like a whole second to get to full accuracy. Also at high elo it must make a reasonably big difference for some peaks
