Agent pool theory

Having players that can flex onto multiple agents is good, but teams that put their players in a BO3 on 2/3 different agents always seem to lose against those that try to keep players on their main. Why are some teams so heavy focused on working the 'meta comp' instead of putting players on comfort picks? To be it seems just better to only actually make players switch agents if it's actually required and players are super comfortable on them (Look at rankers for example)

if you play one agent then you’re done as soon as it gets nerfed/meta change

c0m and sacy are pretty good examples for this theory as well. EG made sova look insane on fracture when most considered it a bad sova map, but c0m played it perfectly.

but the idea of flexibility is to catch teams off guard, with a game like valo. You can really throw off a team with a one and done comp

If you're a professional player in Tier 1, you should already have mastered at least 3 agents in your role.
The competition is increasing each year and the agent pool is getting wider so team comps will always have to adapt. To adapt the best at a high level to meta, the players must play their agents and roles well.
1 trick agent players will ultimately fall off either throughout the year or in the future, its just bound to happen.
Real examples: Yay, Demon1, etc etc.

its simply hard to make a strategy when everyone is playing with their comfort picks and there's no agent utility cohesion... most of the time, you'd want at least one player flexing so that you don't have a gap in your utility
