Why not normal 12 team tourney format

is there any reason why vct doesnt employ a tourney format for every lan with the circuit points?
like every region has 12 teams so make them into groups and just do it normal like a sport event type deal
why this 2 game loss elim format for tier 1
they can increase the number for games for every regional split why this shit format for kickoff

Unfortunately in the world of competitive sports we are measured by wins and losses. No offense but I'm going to pass on your advice.
