last time I checked, he was the IGL

I don't think being an IGL requires your mechanics to be really great, the role is typically more on calling and reminding ur team to stick to the fundamentals and all the things the team learned

Tbh, APAC is all about being "cracked". This "fundamentals" thing you see more in EMEA. APAC rely heavily on aim.
