is he stuck on dfm?
arin2016 [#2]Yes. Until 2027 (he will extend contract even further most likely)
just fell to my knees

Even worse. He was going to retire way earlier but he said that fans' support motivated him to continue. His career will end in DFM.
JukeSidewalker [#5]DFM should be one of the more established and wealthy org, all they need to do is build around meiy. I see so many doom and gloom posts over meiy staying with DFM.
They already tried building around him. DFM isn't known for building superteams. And ZETA's Valo division is wealthier than DFM's. Doesn't mean anything.

wait how old is he??
Lucrix [#12]why retire??
This was from back when he was in NTH. They were one game away from making it to Champs 2021 through LCQ but they ended up losing. The team decided to part ways and Meiy was 50% sure he wanted to retire. He said he is not the type of person to be confident in himself. He was worried about his pro career not working out so he wanted to quit early. But he got an offer from CR and decided to take it. And since then he amassed a huge fanbase.
But all this was a long time. I'm not saying he will retire now. I'm saying he's thankful to CR/DFM and it's fanbase, and will end his career on DFM, as in he will not switch orgs.

so is he kinda like tenz for japan?
idk if that makes sense

I don't know how that comparison works. If you're talking about popularity and streaming variety then I think Laz is a more fitting comparison. If you're talking about fat paychecks then idk how much he gets.
tenz doesn't have an obligation towards SEN though. I'm pretty sure Meiy isn't in DFM for the money.

i was talking about popularity+being with dfm gave him clout

Laz has him beat in popularity. During the CR ZETA rivalry it was close but ZETA made international runs so Laz was more popular.
But either of them aren't like tenz. tenz popularity had gapped all other pros' popularity by a large margin.
Warlordwibz [#10]DFM only made franchise because CR messed up their application forms deadline due to pending legal issues. If CR made it instead of DFM, there wouldn't be any discussion of Meiy being "stuck on DFM".
CR > DFM.
Isn't dfm's Valorant spot being run by crazy racoons anyway?
