It's crazy how if you didn't make it to Champions 2024 your season is basically over meaning you don't play for 5 or more months.

Is this the only eSport that is structured like this?

Yup, sucks for those teams and for their fans too. Imagine you root for a team like KOI or FURIA and you know your team's season has been long finished because a bad start that made it pretty much impossible to make champs. FURIA's year ended the moment they didn't make Shanghai as their shit record wasn't gonna help them for split 2 either

It definitely sucks. Also the lack of off season events (also region locked) is pretty scary for this game's esport growth and wouldn't be surprised if many players choose to retire or return to CS

Sentinels are qualified to champs so obviously it's not as bad as 2022 and 2023.
