Why mobile game org in the Philippines doesn't invest in valorant? Unlike in Indonesia, they do.

Well mobile games are for frauds and will never have a good career. Look at cgrs, successful in mobile gaming scene and now failure at Valorant. He is making more money being a failure in valorant than success in mobile gaming

But mobile gamers/orgs is making banks atleast in sea region. Viewership reaches up to million.

I'm more curious about why Filipino Challengers' viewership is so low, bcs Valorant is quite big there, right?

Jessievash has a big family I think and they are pretty much the valorant fanbase there. And his family only support what Jessievash team is on

Yeah I've seen one article before, that Philippines has over 5% of all valorant players in the world, bigger than Indonesia, and yet Indo has bigger viewership than ph.

Filipinos like winners. If you dont win you dont get the support of the main stream audience. They view tier 2 as not worth watching.

We have a facebook group that's like 1.2 million people but not even 1% of that tune in to streams. Not to mention that the streaming base is so fragmented, there are people who tune in to multiple websites but majority are tiktok only, fb only, yt only, or twitch only. So its hard to get a critical mass of filipinos to join the stream. When they see twitch or yt streams with sub 1k viewers they'll think its not worth their time.

Edit: I like to add that filipinos will tune in to philippines vs (X country) matches. In a way consolidating the APAC region will bring more filipino viewership

Yep they are fair weather fans I remember when NRX Jeremiah 29:11 won Codm championship, their star player whoopie got a million views all of a sudden on his next YouTube highlight , I can't even imagine how big he must have gotten on Facebook

Man our fanbase has one of biggest SEN fans if you mention TenZ or zekken everyone knows them 😂 (cryo as well) ig anyone with filo blood will gain instant support.
I've been following valorant ph esports since 2020(before Adroit Esports came to Bren) and they will only care for the top dogs and not the whole scene.

Not a lot of orgs like to take risks. Orgs like BREN used to field teams when the Valorant system was still like an open league. Now there are 3 degrees of separation from the international tournaments and the local tournaments, orgs feel like its a waste to invest into a scene that doesnt have a chance of playing in international tournaments within the year.

Blacklist CEO Tryke wanted to get into Valorant but its hard when the only time you can get into tier 1 is through the difficult Ascension tournament

i was really waiting for blacklist to enter the scene since 2022 or team from teampayaman owned by cong but it didnt happen because of the franchising. also suprised bren and southbuild not in the scene anymore

SBE was due to financial issues. BREN was due to the fake drug charges the Gong Di administration gave to the CEO.
Tryke really wanted to enter the scene and was asking around social media for months if the valorant ph scene looks good but ultimately i think he decided against it and chose to enter DotA instead.

I think blacklist might enter the scene when the consolidation happens, they want an international audience to market to and i think the consolidation gives them that

It's because Val isn't as big as mobile, plus ph vct viewers aren't as big as other ASEAN countries. So it's not worth it for them

VCL SPLIT 1 VIEWERSHIP
Thai 19,560
Indo 15,211
Viet 14,881
SA 14,197 (Cup 1) 3,495 (Cup 2)
MYSG 10,446
PH 5,882
OCE 3,507

VCL Split 2 Viewership (PH & Oce split 2 unavailable)
Thai 20,399
Indo 13,394
SA 8,769
MYSG 8,505
Viet 8,365

believe it or not valorant is actually huge here, we have the 4th largest player base . People just dont tune in to streams.

I think because of other streamers who watch party like curry, fns, and etc. They want validation of others and that also apply to me

Majority of the Hong Kong server are Filipino players, obviously there is a larger margin of players that play valorant compared to other subregions

I would say it's just timing.
-Computer rental/netcafe/computer cafes are pretty popular in the Philippines.
-Cov*d happened, and valo came out
-This era ended up boosting the mobile gaming more than the PC gaming.

Maybe give it some time. I think it is only this year that new netcafe businesses are starting to pop-up again
