CS Majors is for clowns in this economy
AI + Outsourcing is taking over and will be replacing them

Anyone else says otherwise is stupid
ChatGPT can generate code better than half of the CS graduates

Well check your ATS score i just found out my resume was shit, try to improve the ats score so you get shortlisted. (ats score is the score your resume gets by an automatic scanning which companies do with the keywords and try to match the candidate with the best profile)

CS is indeed in a tough spot in the job market rn, but AI also needs its hand held and code rigorously checked by an experienced programmer for it to work. Honestly, it's maybe only slightly better than getting help from google search results.

Yes
Computer Science + Linguistics

Expand your search. Use glassdoor and multiple websites not just Linkedin

And mass apply
The more places you apply the higher the chance you get a message back

Good luck you got this

Most schools that I’m aware of have a CS + X Program

Like USC

CS + Business/Administration

You should probably use your schools alumni network and ask for referrals. Best way to get an internship imo

Hey, the most important thing as a programmer is a profile with interesting projects in it, that's what the companies look at the most. They want to look at what/how you're able to code.

ive heard about that but how do you even approach alumni? i find it harder to talk to people that are older and not in school anymore as I can’t really find stuff to relate to them

Go to Linkedin

Your school Alumni page
Find people with the similar job title you have interest in

Glaze them and ask if you can get a referral because it would be a dream to work there

Wrong

Experience > Projects

For an intern guy, you won't have much experience outside of college. What boosts your chances are the interesting projects you have done in your spare time/outside of your school. Way more chances than those who haven't.

Employers are more inclined to hire someone with an internship for a full time position that some buck that did 5 pointless projects + employers sometimes gives a return offer (full time position) to interns

Internship = Experience

If you don’t get one during college well you’re basically fucked

I'm saying someone with an internship who has projects in his profile will have way better chances than someone with an internship who just followed his college curriculum and has not done any self projects outside of that curriculum. I'm comparing people with internships. Not some random guy with no degree/diploma that did 5 pointless projects out of nowhere. It's all about boosting his chances.

graduated georgia tech in may, going into a PhD program
in the fall. happy to chat if it would be useful to you.
I think I messaged you randomly back in May because I
thought you were also from georgia tech, apologies if it
came off as creepy.
