coaches are over hated

whenever a team without an obvious weak link or with likable players performs badly, people immediately jump to hate on the coach

the two most notable examples of this are chet and termi. people will jump to hate on chet then in the next sentence glaze potter who also had HORRIBLE results for 2+ years, and don't mention player quality since that EG team wasn't even "mid" (in terms of performance), they were straight up ass. optic/NRG had good strats for 2021 to 2023, I don't see why one bad year is immediately blamed on the coach. it could be his fault, but it's practically impossible for us to say that in all confidence

termi is imo one of the best coaches in the game and yet gets hate for his choices on drx. I have quite literally never seen someone, at any point in time, put any of the old drx players in their top 10 aside from mako and yet that roster managed to do good in 2022 and 2023. people will still blame termi for trying to change things up, if anything he shouldn't have brought zest back in 2023 and stayed with foxy9 even if they performed badly as first (foxy9 proved himself to be a great player this year too).

at what point do you accept that drx had reached their peak and changes were necessary? that team's only consistently great player was mako (along with maybe buzz), stax was given many opportunities and his igling was always mid yet they could still make it far because of their strats. a lot of their strats are still used by top teams TO THIS DAY.

that aside, I think he (or the management) were wrong to drop rb and zest that late into the off season, they should've dropped them earlier so they had more time to find a team.

pretty sure ppl hate on termi bc he didn’t call timeouts which is fair bruh ur putting so much pressure on a singular player

that was in regular season where drx was pretty much confirmed into playoffs and the off season events since he wanted to let stax learn a bit, afaik he never did that in any important game. iirc mini did a similar thing with boaster

this has nothing to do with what u said but fun fact: termi coached solo, glow, and HSK in the past

boaster was always an igl
boaster accepted his position as a bad fragger and good igl a long time ago

stax was not

imagine ur stax and u go from a god tier fragger to an igl all of a sudden because ur coach keeps switching up the roster and nobody else wants to igl and now he just straight up doesn’t even call any timeouts for you, ofc he’d crumble

even the best coaches + igls call out timeouts it’s just not fair for that much pressure on a new player who’s still getting used to a new role

I began following drx in 2022, I'm not sure what roster changes you're talking about tbh 🗿
