Did you guys see this news? If this is true it will impact the entire tech market on a global scale and ruin China's gaming empire for the long term.

How can someone be good at any game playing just 3 hours a week? This is the time to review a VOD you played. Could any Chinese around here explain better?

How would they inforce that rule? Do they have ID's or something?
If they do have ID's, couldnt they just use there parents if they let them?

its only for underaged players. its not that big of a deal for MOBAs but FPS wont have any cracked aimers, for example entryplayers like tenz or asuna wich will hurt the valorant scene. china is doing sum weird shit ngl, they boutta lose a lot of money since they have many gamers

Yes, it's all children under 18, it's in childhood and adolescence that people have more time to dedicate themselves to anything and develop mechanically, so in China they can only do that from 18 onwards. Zekken, Liazzi, Qck, Khalil, Heat, Asuna, TenZ, Mwzera, they all couldn't play because they were under 18, and they wouldn't be good either because nobody can even get radiant with 3h a week..

I read in an article on a website in Brazil that they will require ID and Face ID to login games, and I believe this is a federal law imposed by the government, I don't think the parents of these children have any authority over this

China has always stood out for revealing mechanically insane players precisely because they have been playing games since childhood and training many hours a day, the future of the competitive scene there will be doomed to failure and there will be a huge capital flight from the country imo.

Its a larger scheme of things, basically china think gaming is a leisure activity its 'nice to have' technology not 'need to have' as a lot of their engineers are going to game development contrary to cyber security, etc. So they will make the industry so dead and deserted that no one will invest in it. Already Chinese tech giants have incurred a loss of 40 billion because people are removing their investments

China is one of a handful of countries who can announce this and I actually believe that they will be able to enforce it. I agree that this will reduce China's competitive level in games where young players do very well ie: FPS but I don't know if the 3hour limit will hold for very long because it is so strict.

Yeah they can surely enforce it in eSports but i don't think the same for the casual gamers, there is always a way yk lol

I think that hardcore gamers will find a way around but China has so much power over their citizens that most casual gamers(especially on mobile) will probably just follow the rules. China could lower your social credit for breaking the rules which could affect getting loans/applying for jobs, shit is crazy in China.

i still dont get the importance or the reason for this, what is the motive, since this was out of the blue as well

Its simply that China doesnt care about its economy or how it progresses, the main motive of china is not to become a rich cointry so that their people can love good lives. Its more that they will do whatever they can to control their populous and make the world rely on them, economic growth was just needed to achieve that so they did, when their blue collar jobs were facing shortages they just made the people who were going to private institutes to get degrees to do white collar jobs merge with vocation schools forcing them to do blue collar jobs. When private companies become too big they just nationalise them or tariff them or make it so hard for them to work that they sell to other giants which are already under CCP's control. So in short they dont care about esports or of the children go to depression until they can manipulate their citizens just enough that they dont start a civil war

Tech companies loosen the grip of govt upon their citizens, like how ali pay gave loans to poor people who couldnt afford banks huge loans it loosend the grip of national banks on its populous so they banned ali pay. So just destroy them before they can become to big to interfere with ur plans

so you're saying china could not give a rat's ass about the economy or the happiness of their ppl and are just doing this to keep the ppl from starting some nationalist movement like they did to overtake the original Chinese govt. back in 1949? thats crazy. then there's really no reason for them being a international powerhouse
