The format of Masters Berlin is kinda weird in some ways.
Let's start with Group-A, We have Vision Strikers, Paper Rex, SuperMassive Blaze and Acend. Acend being the best of EU right now while SMB is the best Turkish team and Vision Strikers have been the best Korean team for a long time with a small break in the middle. Only team in this Group that can be "seen" as a weaker team compared to the other teams in the group. These 4 teams are fighting for 2 spots and it definitely seems kinda unfair.
Group-B Has Envy, Vivo Keyd, KRU Esports and Zeta Division. 3 of these teams are champions of their own regions except for Envy being the 3rd best of NA right now. A lot of people are saying that Envy has the easiest bracket of them all but we will see if its actually true or not.
In Group-C we have Gambit, Crazy Raccoon, 100Thieves and Havan Liberty. Gambit being the best CIS and EMEA team placed with the 2nd best teams of NA, BR and JP seems pretty fair cuz that's how seeding works and that is the reason why seeding matches are important now.
Group-D has pretty good Competition since G2 and Sentinels are in the same matchup right off the bat, while we have Bren Esports and F4Q. F4Q still has to prove themselves in the group stages since a lot of people wanted to see Nuturn in their place. Bren being the best of their region now has to prove that they can compete in the international scene.
The biggest let down is the playoffs where we only have a single elimination bracket. Having no lower bracket kinda sucks, specially when the best teams around the world are competing in a big tournament. Seeing one of the three teams in Group-A getting knocked in the group stage sucks enough, the teams being - VS, ACE and SMB since only 2 of them will qualify. The single elimination in a tournament like this makes no sense regardless of circuit points for champions. People wanna see the best teams of a region fight against the best teams of other regions. Putting 2 EMEA teams in the same bracket with the best Korean team is kinda not the best thing someone could do. With all that being said let me know your opinion :D. Pardon all the mistakes I made and I'm open to criticism :).
TLDR: Group-A unfair, Single elimination playoffs bad.
