Can someone explain to me how the seeding works? And how they're drawn?
Thank god there's some good soul asking first before judging.
Here's for you my guy,
Teams were first sorted into four draw pools based on a combination of their respective final placements at the Challenger events and their regional strength.
Pool 1: NA #1, EMEA #1, KR #1, BR #1
Pool 2: NA #2, EMEA #2, LATAM #1, SEA #1
Pool 3: JP #1, BR #2, KR #2, EMEA #3
Pool 4: NA #3, SEA #2, JP #2, EMEA #4
Next, each team in a pool will be randomly drawn into one of the four groups (Groups A-D). If at any point a team is drawn into a group which already has a team from their region, then they get placed into the next alphabetically sequential group. The only exception to this are teams from EMEA, which as a result of having the most representatives at the tournament, can have two teams drawn into a single group.
MilanTheMyth [#2]If u are higher seed (means u won against the other team that qualified in the tournament) then u will get to play against lower seeds of other regions in ur bracket. unless u are NV, higher seed gets u easier opponents
NV just got lucked out that all the Pool 1/2/3 representatives in their group came from comparatively weaker regions and you can't do anything about it. It's a game of chances.

Other than 2 EU teams being allowed in 1 group, the seeding system for the draw seems pretty reasonable. A SMB/KRU or Acend/ZETA swap between Group A and B would have made the draw el perfecto. Doesn't matter either way as all are just mere fillers to NA's 2nd consecutive masters win.
MilanTheMyth [#2]If u are higher seed (means u won against the other team that qualified in the tournament) then u will get to play against lower seeds of other regions in ur bracket. unless u are NV, higher seed gets u easier opponents
actually nv are against 3 #1 seeds from different regions, problem is they might be objectively weaker than nv but time will tell

How is it reasonable? G2 and NeVy in the same pool as CR and PaperRex? Omegalul. Below LATAM and BR? Omegalul. Below Bren and Zeta. Hyperlul.

yeah it makes more sense now thanks.

true

objectively G2 and NV were the last seeds of their region. And with the game being so new one international LAN isnt enough for Riot to perfectly judge regional strength and put EMEA 4th seed and NA 3rd seed higher than 1st seeds of other regions.
[Btw do you know how cringe you sounded with those 'omegalul' , 'hyperlul' in your statement. Haha typical Twitch juicer]

What's more cringe is that you think that any of bren, zeta, HL, VK, cr, paperex, f4q and all those shit teams wouldn't get absolutely demolished 13-6, 13-4 by G2 and Envy.
Even EU/NA top20 teams would put these teams to bed.

Idk man Nuturn beat V1 last time, who thrashed TL so..... U never know

thrashed TL? it was a narrow victory. Out of all the non EU/NA teams out there only VS has a chance. But thanks to this shitty seeding system they've been placed in the group of death.
Come back to this thread when Quarters will be 4EU, 3NA and 1 BR (who qualified out of pure seeding luck)

If 13-4 with a sub-in isnt a thrashing to you then I don't even wanna argue.. It would have been 2-0 had V1 not thrown so many winnable rounds in the first map

it was a 2-1, both the first 2 maps were close in scorelines. Could've been a 2-0 for liquid for all you know. You're literally deluded. 16-14 and 13-11 and it's a trashing? You're literally fucking delusional, fuck outta here.

by your logic fnatic beat NU 13-8 13-8 after having played a long bo3 with liquid, is that also trashing?

also don't forget how far South america is:

https://www.vlr.gg/19086/team-vikings-vs-team-liquid-valorant-champions-tour-stage-2-masters-reykjavik-main-event-lr3
those are #1 LATAM and #1 BR and they got absolutely shit on. The same seeds that are now higher than NA#3 and EU#3,4
brainless, absolutely brainless. And the rest of the people upvoting you are even more braindead.

Well yeah that's a thrashing too.. Nuturn were no match for Fnatic.

Chill dude why you so hyper about it? That's just one LAN where teams had no prior experience of facing other regions. BR is in fact better at fps than NA. You cant underestimate them based on one tournament.

Because if we don't complain about this dogwater seeding IT WILL KEEP ON HAPPENING and it affects the tournaments QUALITY which then affects PRESTIGE.
pokedyo [#6]actually nv are against 3 #1 seeds from different regions, problem is they might be objectively weaker than nv but time will tell
Was going to say this. Exactly why people think the bracket should be remake but not knowing there 3 #1 seeds in them just portrayed as a "weaker" region.
