There are groups and top 3 teams from each group will go
and 3 teams will then qual to shanghai
if one group is much better than the other, 3 teams from that group should qual to masters
there’s even a 2 win minimum to prevent the 0-5 teams to go through
“normal” group format still makes it possible for one group being much better than the other with the same amount of spots in playoffs
so unless you hate the traditional group format as well, i better not see you shit on this format when your teams doesn’t make it to china

EDIT: i am talking specifically about group stage
playoffs has single elim so the hate is reasonable

Imo based off of what we’ve seen c9 sen and NRG are the top 3 teams in Americas

But they all can’t make it because one will be forced to eliminate the other

A team from group omega is FORCED to go to Shanghai even when they might not deserve it
