Yes the visuals are really pretty. Although Oshi no Ko is not exactly an idol story. It's only the first few arcs.
I think a close comparison is Bocchi the Rock but more serious. If you haven't already then watch Bocchi. It is one of the first girl band anime that tries something different, and is also funny. The songs are great in it plus the art is good too.
