I really only know Shao for his initiator gameplay, and for the longest time I thought he was the main initiator for the NAVI/FPX core, but recently I have noticed that he's been playing less and less of sova and for the last few games involving fade for NAVI, Shao has been placed on smokes. Is this the right move for this team? I feel like for a player that is known for being such a strong initiator player, that having him on that role would make more sense right? Or has this always been a thing?

I mean I guess it's the choice between world class initiator with a T4 smokes player or T2 initiator with a T1 smokes player

Shao can play every agent, but still his initiator was Top 5 itw so it makes no sense

that's what I'm saying. It's like putting suygetsu on initiator or something; sure he can probably play it well, but I don't think that's what a team signing him would want or need him for, and to be honest, they would benefit a lot more with him playing to his maximum.

I mean Shao is insanely good at smokes too but his initiator is just incredible

Shao is too good at initiator to take him off. Ange1 isn’t even bad at smokes idk why they swapped roles
