Play Cypher. His wires are some of the most broken util for defense and he can even entry with his cages. He also has the most cost-effective ult in the game, for only 6 orbs you get basically a wallhack. It's great for supporting the team and also has some crazy clutch potencial.
He's for sure getting nerfed next patch, so abuse him while you can :)

The only way you are ever gonna get better is by playing ranked, there is no magic way to rank up overnight you just have to practice

Focus on mechanics, players till gold have very basic knowledge of the game, it's just a matter of who's more mechanically cracked.

Make sure you get good rest before playing.

I recommend watching Valorant Guide content creators like ThinkingmanVal, Airen, Teets, sgares and sliggy.

There are still many more but that's the only one that I can think of my mind.

Try to find which role is the most comfortable for you. Main one, and have one other role in case if you need to fill.

When you play the game, always ask question after you died. Like could you have done better? Was the death avoidable? Have I done anything that helped my team that round.

With aim, you just gotta keep playing and do warm up, you can find many aim warm up routine on YouTube. Do it like 15 mins or so and then I recommend do deathmatch before going to comp.

Don't overthink it.

Know that all the players in the server are the same level as you so no need to have an anxiety.

Also don't worry too much about your rank, once you start improving, you will rank up eventually. Just know that it takes a ton of times, and dedication.

Lastly have fun. It's a game, after all. Mute and report immediately if you encounter an toxic person. Have some duo or trio, and if you need help finding players then check discord lfg and there many others platforms where you can meet serious players.
