eWok the GOAT!
FrostTree187 [#7]Ok I watched the entire video and Ewok confirmed the roles are going to be:
Jemkin: Duelist
Xffero: Controller
Lmemore: Sentinel
Astrella: Initiator/Flex
flipzjder: Flex/IGL
2GE: sub (for now)edit: RRQ are currently trialing analysts
finally xferro on controller, never understood why he was on initiator when lmemore used to play iniatitor
Finlad [#8]finally xferro on controller, never understood why he was on initiator when lmemore used to play iniatitor
we eating good
miss watching tehbotol on Viper & Astra
Finlad [#8]finally xferro on controller, never understood why he was on initiator when lmemore used to play iniatitor
according to the video, xffero was on controller because of role issues. Apparently Lmemore is a more of quiet player, so he would be better on sentinel
There's a lot of interesting stuff inside the interview some examples:
Ewok was apparently coaching on a team in south africa before moving to SEA.
When Ewok was trialing with GE, he was also coaching collegiate teams in NA. So during the day he coached Ge, at night the collegiate teams. (this trial period was 1 month long I think) and then of course the GE thing didn't really go through
Immediately after the GE trial was over, the next day the onic trial started.
During the 2nd day of onic trial, onic's player shiro impressed Ewok with his 1v5 sheriff clutch in a scrim (probably one of the reason he joined).
Ewok confirm RRQ plan was going to be Indo - PH mix from the start (to keep PH fans)
apparently during the GXE tournament in India or whatever , RRQ was not informed that the playoffs was based on round differential.
During the entire year of 2023, RRQ was facing problems regarding duelist performance (hence why they changed around comps)
They tried Lmemore on Initiator, but it didn't really work out as lmemore is a more reserved player more suited to play sentinel.
2GE is cracked, very talented.
The reason why EJAY was kicked is because of inconsistency issues he was struggling in the entire year
RRQ will stick to more permanent 5 man roster in the future. The 6th slot will be probably for sub.
Jemkin is cracked, a very good duelist that knows when to aggress and when to play disciplined. Also is very vocal in calling supporting util like flashes, etc.
Astrella was picked to fill in some holes in the roles, to make the team more flexible. Will be playing initiator for 2024 season which allows xffero to return to his controller role.
Jemkin signing process was very long, and there were some doubts if he were to be signed in the middle, hence RRQ looking for other options. In the end the contract was signed.
Theres probably like 50 other things I missed from the video.

I watch the full vid, I'll add some:
Warlordwibz [#14]I watch the full vid, I'll add some:
- B4 coaching south African team, he was a caster for south African valorant, decided to do coaching instead because he can make the players so much better.
- When he was coaching for a south african team, his team won pre much everything there is, so he decided to take his chances for EMEA/Asian team instead, which he DM like every coach there is which leads him to the NA collegiate/GE trial.
- During his stay in Onic, he was only suppose to stay in the team for 3months which later ended up being recruit to RRQ to 1.5 years now.
- 2GE ended up staying cause he perform great in LCQ, and he wanted to invest in improving him as a player.
- Xffero wanted to be back on controller, so they went to specifically scout a flash initiator which ended up being Estrella cause "in his VLR, the guy played everything".
- He compared Jemkin to Monyet in which they are both "almost refined form" players.
- Estrella english in game is good, but for outside the game when it comes to strategizing, discussion etc can be improved.
THX also i realised I spelled Estrella wrong :/
Slips [#13]Did he say anything about monyet? I want to know the reason why he didn't pick monyet in the first place
nope
Slips [#13]Did he say anything about monyet? I want to know the reason why he didn't pick monyet in the first place
He only say something about that he used to work with monyet on onic and how Jemkin is like him. With how refined monyet is he grow so fast which is why he is with PRX.

By the looks of it I think they're planning on putting flips onto the information initiator and Estrella will play the flash initiators
Slips [#13]Did he say anything about monyet? I want to know the reason why he didn't pick monyet in the first place
nope
he did say that the higher up insist to go ID-PH mix
so he can't do much there

Warlordwibz [#23]How’s Cape Town servers btw?
They're promising, the community is still a bit small, but I'll always have hope for ZA esports
