Any of you guys big into camping, like being in rural Aus camping is such a standard thing that everyone does but I don't know whether its really popular internationally.
Also if you do go camping what kind of gear are you taking?
melon_fan [#2]I fucking hate it
Its probably good with friends and when ur prepared
Yeah sounds like you just need the tried and tested combo of big fire, good mates and cold beer
juho [#4]I've never actually went camping, but one day I'd absolutely love to go! I guess I'd take some protein bars, tent things, a sleeping bag, flashlight etc
Depends if your going base camping or hiking. I recommend you start out base camping with a few day hikes then transition to full hiking trips. Gives a bit more comfort at camp and a fair bit lighter pack weight if your starting off hiking. Also means you can do stuff like fishing, paddle boarding and surfing depending on where your camping

damn I wanna go now 😭😭😭 sounds fun
horse69 [#8]i went camping one in scouts and i literally got eaten by mosquitos
Yeah pro tip, if you don't like mozzies camp away from still bodies of water (wetlands, damns, still creeks) and swap from white camp lighting to red or amber. Also the girlfriend thinks the mosquito dots you can get at anaconda are solid
Dokka [#10]Ive been a scout for most of my life i gotchu
i usually take
one person tent
heat adjusting bad
small chair
2 change of socks and underwear
bunch of warm clothing
bug spray
water bottle and snacks
Same, I've been a scout for most of my life. Currently in Rovers and a section leader for a local group. Haven't gone hiking in a while more a fan of 4x4 touring these days. Nice swag, awning, fridge full of cold beers.
Also have you been to the international centre in Kandestag. Would recommend went there last year hiking European mountains and crossing a glacier was pretty all time.
