just my 2 cents of thought, but the 1.4b is what makes it tougher, you have immense competition in the orthodox fields that if you slack off, you're behind because most Indians to be frank are of lower middle income who cant risk to dabble in this. Which is why you rarely see people getting into competitive sports, even though we reserve some jobs for them, let alone esports, in a country where gaming is still kinda taboo

well i do agree but people mostly focus on mobile gaming that too just 2-3 titles
a very little consider esports as a career
in india what matters is performing good in academics and hitting a job

well indian csgo had talents and lot of people grinding but that time it was lack of infrastructure, ask any cs asian sea pro now shifted to val about rite2ace(played major) psy,marzil,antidote, many were on equal footing with sea teams to a level where prx loaned indian player
