Why are people on twitter acting like EG are paying their players 3rd world country salaries, I'm seeing people replying to tweets like 'you don't deserve this'... YOU PLAY A GAME FOR A LIVING, they also have no expenses since accommodation and food is paid for, esports players have lost touch of reality and don't know real struggle.

if u take a look at 1 person asking for salary increase seems normal ya? But when an entire 5 or 9 EG players all asking for it AT THE SAME TIME, it becomes 5x and 9x. Lets say each player wants increase of $2,000 per month... thats $10,000 - $18,000 (lets round to $20k) TIMES 12 = $120,000 to $216,000 ($240,000) per year ON TOP of normal salary already earned by player.

TLDR: 1 person salary increase seems fine on paper, but 5 people + is A LOT.

Brazil’s economy is fucked up but ill make the comparison just so that people know how fucking much this is.

20k USD = ~100k BRL.

minimum wage in BR is 1200 reais per month (roughly 240 USD). The average BR citizen would have to work for years to make what these players get in a month from simply playing valorant.

majority of BR people live with a minimum wage, while providing for their families. Im pretty sure this reality applies to any 2nd and 3rd world countries as well, so please ENJOY your 20k monthly for playing games, do not spit on it and be grateful for the opportunity you had.

I'd be in their position for just housing and food. This is my dream and theirs, how about we stop making orgs pay more than they have to, and then we will get stability from orgs and hunger from players. I'm not saying players don't deserve good money or that orgs are run by good people, but that's what we need as fans.
