pay is shit compared to what you do and have to endure
but healthcare is fulfilling though if you get pass it. if you’re in it for the money and not the passion or interest, then it’s not worth it.
excuse me? what are other "normal" jobs that pay more? high ranking civil servant? magistrate? engineer? bank employee?

In Italy is even worse, everybody thinks that doctors are missionaries and should work like 24/7, pay is shit in public service and after university youn have to go through 4-5 years of residency getting paid like 1500€/month to get shitted on by your superiors and learn nothing (expecially in surgery residencies), because if you learn too much you could take their place.
But yea, I love medicine so I think it's worth it.
SAMPV6 [#22]I have several friends just going out of med school, those MFs have time for nothing but work so there's that.
They have decent pay but it's good for nothing since no time to even spend it.
yea the time committment is crazy
furyufbutyounger [#23]I am a med student and i am happy about it, we can affect human's lives in seconds in right way and it makes me happy when i think about that
If you know how to work there is a time for everything that you want to do
W. Gl vro!

i did 8 years of schooling for medicine.
med school is tough and residency just as. it’s not easy money.
accounting, sonographer, mechanic for a company like toyota, dental assistant, the arts like nail tech or something etc etc
all decent money without the sacrifice of long years of schooling.
i’m not saying medicine is not good money, but if that’s all you’re in it for, you’re going to absolutely hate it. extremely long hours and it’s physically and mentally taxing.

you won't get paid nearly as much as a doctor but basically any engineering field is median salary of about $90,000 with significantly less time commitment
Pretty good
But you need a good specialty/residency nowadays. Being an average doc won't cut it in the future since more and more med schools are showing up
The med school itself doesn't matter as long as you can get into a good residency
Networking is giga important nowadays too
But
Some specialties are basically printing money

Yoorake [#35]My first year I'm gonna get paid 65$ per month for that year. So if your not passionate or not rich it's not really that worth it financially, but it does help bring alot of prestige and in asian household that is worth more than money
Bro what? I'm guessing ur from another country so it's a diff currency but McDonald's workers make more in a day.
I think u did the math wrong bc no way a doctor gets paid 65$ a month regardless of country

nah it's like our first year as a doctor and we get assign to a remote place and gets bad pay, but then you can make more money in the big cities after you finished your first year

ik what ur talking abt but 65$ a month is crazy bro 😭😭😭
how tf do u pay the bills? in many countries, 65$ can only feed u for like 2 days
funny timing i come to vlr to analyze a vod and find this.
i actually have stepped back from team coaching apart from analysis and have instead started coaching via metafy/social media. im still eager to spread my knowledge & its the best way for higher reach.
i am at college 3x/week,12h/day (with equal break if youre curious) but i dont think i want to keep doing medicine for now. i want to go back to comp sci and return when/if i feel ready. not because the hours are tiring but just because of how detrimental it is on the soul/mentally

If you wanna be a doctor here you gotta be rich, or financially stable at the least

Plus, you are in neuroscience which is a whole other dimension when it comes to competetiveness and difficulty. I have a distant relative who became a neurosurgeon in the US in 2016 and its even worse now as they have less than 100 completing an accreddited fellowship out of the 1000+ who are already in residency.
300k Student debt aswell.
i was having fun at the waterslide when suddenly i noticed a big shadow covering the entire pool i looked up and there i saw him, Ardiis. He was coming straight for me, he jumped into the pool and the velocity of the wave that followed knocked me unconcious.
When i woke up i was chained in a cold and dirty room and there he was, streaming the popular shooter game VALORANT on Twitch while talking to his chat, somehow he managed to say the word "bro" 254 times in just 3 sentences how is that even possible?? I quickly realised that the chains were actually made of chocolate, confused (and mainly hungry) i started licking and sucking them as fast as i could and managed to crawl out of the room -that i presumed was probably his mothers basement- while remaining unseen.
I searched around the house for an exit and i quickly found the front door. As soon as i exited the building i saw a horde of angry Brazilians holding blowtorches and pitchforks chanting at ardiis and calling him a racist and a loser. I didn't really care so i tried to get out of the scene as soon as possible but just as i was about to step out of the house, ardiis put his enormous hand on my shoulder and whispered with a soft and melodic tone in my ear "You're not going anywhere pumpkin pie" and "Daddy's gonna take care of this swifly". He stepped out of the house and suddenly yelled "WATCH THIS" as he flamboyantly dashed into the air and suddenly made 5 knives materialise around him. He used the knives to effortlessly tap every single brazilian in the area.
I was so afraid, blood was spilled everywhere. When it all was over ardiis looked in my direction and i knew that it was over, if they didnt stand a chance, then i wouldnt either, so i just gave up. Ardiis started walkingin my direction each step making the ground shake. When he got to me he just sat down on me saying that i got cold and he needed to warm me up. After a while he took me inside the smelly basement again and took his clothes off. He started smelling me and licking my ear, and then he suddenly got very embarrased and told me i can just leave.
Turns out that this was a huge misunderstanding, this whole time he thought that i was a chocolate egg and he wanted to eat me. The disappointment on his face when he realized the mistake he had done was palpable, a tangible testament to the depth of his sorrow.

cost of living could be pretty cheap here because we have a great agriculture so food is mostly cheap and still nutritious gas is also relatively cheap here compare to most countries, but rent though needs me going through my savings

that's good but still, does ur country not have like a minimum wage or smtng?
doctors shouldn't be getting paid less than fast food workers imo

yeah sucks that i even have to consider this but the gender stigma.. there are currently so few board certified female neurosurgeons and id be going into a tough competition.
500k student debt* unless i go to grossman which would be 0 tuition.
