The true idea behind a franchise league is to gain exposure, which will generate excitement and buzz about the game by using the labor of these players and this directly translates to... more sales and a larger player base. A point that every company cant refuse.
These numbers typically affect the retention rate of the game itself which is a favored metric in this industry. Riot is no exception but if a franchise league alone is enough to generate a positive retention rate, why would they put in double the effort to maintain a multi-tier tournament? Am I right rito?
Based on how they treated TGRD, we can assume that Riot doesnt give a fuck about tournament integrity or inclusivity. They only care on how much number these org could give by franchising.
I really hope this is just Leo Faria being Leo Faria and not how Riot as a developer actually treats the scene. If it is, then this scene has no future at all.
